2 Dogs, 2 Custom knives and a Primitive Weapon !!!

As always, great pictures Pit! One question though...did you cut the rest of that firesteel off to make it a little more portable or is it that short just from use? If it got that way from use, that's just amazing!

I wore it really thin in the middle from poor technique ( ie. Not just striking the last 1/2" ) and so eventually it broke off leaving me about 1". Since then it has worn down to it's present size !!!!:o

I've just been outside and have knocked the shoulder off the edge of the Hiker and then stropped it to a convex edge with some wet and dry. It's too late to get pics now but it looks pretty good for me and is now cutting wood great !!!!;)

Everything is always a compromise eh, if you have a real fine edge it might cut great but can be easily damaged and if you have a thick edge you can give them hell but they won't cut as well !!!!!:(

Sorry, but I needed to know since I have one, except mine is 3V. Talk of a rippled edge had me a little concerned.

No need to be concerned even for those with the 1095 versions, the ripples were minute and were removed with maybe 3 runs along my diamond sharpener !
