2 factor identification

Not getting 2 factor identification. It’s a @msn.com email and I’ve checked all spam and rules. Even had all bladeforums emails pinned to the top. (Reviewed the Gmail sticky and this does not resolve my issue)

This is redundant account and I’d prefer to get access to my old account

I doubt I will get it. Email notifications have stopped again

It’s a problem with all Microsoft email systems, MSN, Hotmail, Live, Outlook, and whatever names they have used over the years. It’s all the same on the backend. When you get access again, switch to a non Microsoft email account. If only for Bladeforums.
Then make sure to copy your one-time codes and setup a passkey. Both will let you in if you don’t have access to the email.
 
I have used an app for 2 factor authentication for years, first Authy, now 1Password, I can only recommend it. Plus, with 1Password I don’t need to share passwords with the browser provider, and it’s portable across platforms.
 
I use Authy and Bitwarden, but not for BF. Passkey works really well and is very secure.
In any event, do not rely solely on email verification.
 
I depend on a 15-character password which I only use on this site. It contains, caps, small letters, special characters, and is not composed of words.
 
All great info for when I get back in. How do i overcome this initial access issue?

I apologize in advance if there’s an obvious solution but been “locked out” for a few days.

Used my Gmail account for this temp UN so can’t assign the legacy UN gmail right now.

The emails will eventually start working again, so you’ll have a window of opportunity to get back into your account.
 
this is bladesmith3 using my wifes account. so how do i change my email address and how do i get back on the forum to do anything to fix it?
 
Spark Spark can 2 factor authentication be turned off on your end so that bladesmith3 can log on and change email address? thanks
 
I've tried logging on with other devices, but can't because the confirmation code isn't sent. I've tried logging on multiple times on two different devices, but I can't because the system won't send the code. And yes, I checked the spam folder. No emails were received.

And since the system's apparently set up to make you re0verify each device every 30 days, it's only a matter of time before this computer gets locked ut too.

I sent emails throught the contact link, and that has its own problems. There's a "verify you're human" box that you have to check at the beginning, but one verification isn't enough. In an email I sent this morning on my phone, it kept interrupting while I was typing the email to makeme reverify my humanity. I had to check that box 9 times to send one email.
 
If you have access from one computer now, then go to your account settings and add another multi-factor authentication method. You could also change email providers and then add the new address to your account.
 
Just my opinion, but I would remove the need for verification, until I started getting other notifications. I was in the process of doing so, when I discoved that I was actually getting the notifications in my spam.
The idea is to lock others out, not yourself
 
Backup codes and Passkeys will not lock you out as you have possession of the required second factor. Email MFA only works if you can receive the second factor. You can have all forms of MFA active at once, so you don't get locked out.
 
Original poster still locked out. Tried a couple more times for the original account to send/receive the email but still can’t find it.

Spark Spark can I post my original UN and have the 2 factor temporary removed or reset so I can change email?
