These two are pretty close in size and shape. Both are forged from 01 flat stock, edge quenched, 600grit hand satin finish. Each has it's own character and feel, but both are great in the hand with balance right at first finger. The curly maple handle is well suited to a bigger hand being full throughout while the cocabola should fit anyone. Made these to use in camp or where ever a little bigger blade would help. Both come with a custom fit sheath. Here's the spec's:
Curly Maple
Oal: 10 1/2"
Blade: 5 1/4" to ricasso
Width: 1 1/2"
Thickness: 5/32"
Handle: Curly maple, brass pins, mosaic center pin
Cocabola
OAL: 10 1/4"
Blade: 4 3/4"
Width: 1 1/2"
Thickness: 5/32"
Handle: Cocabola, stainless pins, mosaic center pin
Price: $185 each OR $350 for both Includes shipping CONUS, PayPal (ruger315@charter.net), check or money order CURLY MAPLE IS SOLD

That curly maple looks great!! But I've never seen it dark before - did you use a walnut stain? It's a super look.

The darker look on the walnut is not form any stain. It's an old timey process using some techniques and chemicals that have been around for centuries. I started doing this when making period blackpowder rifles and it works well on knives. Glad you like it!

Correction, I'll take the Curly Maple not the Cocabola. Assuming it is still available.

I got to handle these at Trackrock and they are both comfy comfy comfy

really nice leather work too, you didn't have that done yet at the time

kdebjr, the curly maple is still available and I'll hold it for you pending payment and shipping arrangements. Contact me at ruger315@charter.net or Forum message.
