It seems the real test of an internet dealer is how they treat you upon returning a product.

The GOOD (based on first orders)

Knife Center - extremely curteous about the return, even credited me with the postage. Howard (owner)has treated me quite well, even offering me a great deal on a slow moving item over the phone. Super fast shipping response too.

Knife Outlet - Fred promptly credited a purchase I returned to him. He has always answered my emails within 48 hours. Great prices on most stuff. K.O. is one of the price setters I judge others by.

The HOPEFULLY (GOOD)

Cutlery Shoppe - Nice folks, slightly high prices. Jeff (owner)seems to care about clients. Prompt delivery. Best return policy of all the stores I know of. I have one product on return there and am anticipating no problems.

Discount Knives of the Internet - Brian has always answered emails within 24 hours, and is more than willing to stand by his 10% lower policy. Prompt shipping. Have one return in with him now and will see how it is handled. The outcome of this transaction may help provide some evidence about this controversial dealer.

Bayou Lafourche - excellent prices. Roger (owner) is very personable and willing to help. Prompt shipping on items. I am awaiting a few items ordered a couple of days ago.

Hope this information helps the rest of you.

Well I can tell you right now you can move Roger at Bayou from hopeful to absolute.

Roger is a class guy and Bayou Laforche is one of the best internet knife sites on the web.

Something about the "hopefully" post bothers me....perhaps waiting until you finished the deals before posting to avoid any confusion. Posting experiences that were good or bad is helpful....posting about hoping for a good experience perplexes me a bit.

Sincerely,

I agree that Roger is great to deal with. I have ordered several knives from him and have always had great service. Plus he is a great person to talk to. Very helpful. Thanks Roger!

Jeffrey,

Man, from all those returns, it looks like YOU need to be a little bit more careful with what YOU are ordering.

Yep,
roger is a good guy to order from. I ordered some knives last sunday night (late) and had em at my door wednsday.
thanks bayou laforche!

Yeah, I buy a lot of knives, but return less than I buy. Just wanted to share some info that might help people.

Because there are no decent knife stores around, I am willing to pay a gut load of postage to see the blades in person.

Yeah, Roger is pretty great. I'm sure that there are hundreds of stories, I've got more than one myself. However, my father in law is getting up there. He showed me his boyhood knife, which was quite worn out as you might imagine! I called Roger looking for a duplicate and not expecting to find one. He said, "You bet, I'm holding one in my hand right now". I received the knife in two days. Yes, Roger can absolutely be relied on for great service. I wish you all could have seen my father in law's eyes as he opened the box.

Roger is THE man!!!! Also, cutlery shoppe will work with you any way they can to keep you happy and keep your return bussiness. But, as stated above,it sounds like YOU need to be a little more careful in what you're ordering

OK, OK, Glockman 99 and Littlejohn - I will get some control on my buying frenzies. Guess I will have to spend some meaningful windshield time to drive to a decent knife store. (:O)
