I have 2 knives that I would like to unload, especially after a few unforeseen expenses have cropped up. These 2 sweet babies need a new home! (This will be the last price drop)

The 1st one on the table is a hunting knife with the sort of edge geometry that makes game processing fun! Well, that may be slightly exaggerated. I wouldn't call it "fun", even if I had Luke's light sabre. If you're like me and you don't have one of those laser swords, this CPM M4 Walnut Hunter is the next best thing. I would know...my personal hunter is exactly like this one, down to the figured walnut! (I haven't used a light sabre in a few years, my Jedi training courses became too expensive). You've probably heard of CPM M4, especially it's popularity in the BladeSports cutting competitions, where it is used to great effect. It is both very wear resistant and tough, properties that are often at odds with each other in steel. The heat treat this baby received was a custom treatment done by Peter's Heat Treating, using cryo immediately after the quench and low temp tempers. This particular treatment gives the edge apex more stability when impacting hard surfaces like bone. With the thin blade (0.076"), the thin grind, and high hardness (64HRC), this dog will hunt! The handle is nicely figured walnut, sporting a hand rubbed oil finish and stainless steel pins. The 30° inclusive edge was sharpened by hand with diamond plates, and will catch on your fingerprint ridges! I'm always amazed at how sharp CPM M4 seems to get right off of the stones. You'll want to check your fingers after using this sucker, make sure they're still there! Included is a custom made kydex sheath, with a metal clip for belt/boot carry.

OAL: 8.5"
Blade: 3.75"
Handle: 4.75"
Thickness: 0.076", tapered to tip
Steel: CPM M4 @ 64HRC
Edge: 30° inclusive (15° per side), EEF DiaSharp

2nd knife on the table is a sleek number, dressed in black black black black number one! (TO-, for the metal heads out there!). "Black Betty" is her name. Blade steel on this mamba jamba is the ultra fine grained AEB-L Swedish razor steel. You probably used this steel very recently, but didn't know it. If you have ever shaved, you probably used a razor that had AEB-L steel in it. It is a steel that was specifically designed for razor blades. Pretty neat! But I bet your razor isn't at 63 on the Rockwell C scale! I can't say enough about AEB-L, or the Sandvik equivalent 13c26. It is simply an excellent cutlery grade steel that outperforms it's expectations, just judging by the numbers. Carbon, Iron, and Chromium, that's it. But that simplicity makes for a very fine grain, and thus a very tough edge. The carbides in AEB-L are extremely small compared to the carbides in most stainless steels, and forms the K2 chromium carbide, which is harder than the K1. The Swedes knew what they were doing with this steel! The heat treatment was done by Peter's Heat Treating, and they really know how to make AEB-L perform to it's max potential! I put a compound edge on this blade, utilizing a 10° "back bevel" and a 15° "micro bevel". The geometry is perfect for every day use, not too thin so that you want to baby it, but not too thick that it doesn't slice well. This lady is ready for work, and play! The edge you can get with this steel is simply awe inspiring. Handle with care, 'cause she'll bite!

OAL: 8 3/4"
Blade: 3 3/4"
Handle: 5"
Thickness: 0.115", tapered to point
Steel: AEB-L 63HRC
Edge: 10°/15°, apexed with Spyderco UF stone
