Two beautiful trappers by John Lloyd of Missouri. One thin knife with shield,one thicker knife ,mainly thicker at the butt,has a nice taper in the handle. These are custom handmade slipjoint folders. The handle scales are India Sambar Stag. The blades & springs are Brad Vice "Alabama Damascus" ,52100 & 15N20 . Bolsters are radiused & beveled in front,ss. Inlaid & pinned "double bomb" shield on the thinner knife,is SS. Liners are mill relieved & ss,so are the pins. Size is 4-1/8" closed,7.25" open. Blades measure 3-1/8" and have 2-7/8" of cutting edge. Hollow grind,cut swedges & crescent nail nicks on the blades. Excellent fit & finish,and walk 'n' talk. Springs are flush with liners in all half stop positions,and the blades center nicely closed. The pull is a nice even & smooth "5" right down the middle of the 1 to 10 scale,perfect.
