I don't know if it's been done before but here it goes... I usually carry two knives everyday a small one not to scare the sheeple and a larger one, fixed or locking for heavier work. My weekly stuff differs from my weekend options because of the fact that I work in NYC. Here's what today's looks like:

I like to know the reasoning behind how we choose our setups. Mine was easy today...the swayback because I will be in a public place and the mini lockback because I always feel the need for something larger and heavy duty.

Let's keep it traditional:)

I've posted these before but they seemed like a natural for this thread. I'm not sure if the City Knife qualifies as traditional. It's close enough for me.

These are in my pocket Monday through Friday.

I have been carrying two Northfield knives (big and small) lately.

A #25 Barlow in my front pocket and a #36 Sunfish in a leather belt sheath (both in stag). I had been carrying the Sunfish in my pocket but it can be a bit heavy in lighter weight pants. I have a old leather open-top 1911 mag pouch and I stuck the sunfish in there and it seems like it was made for it.

Ive been carrying two saks. A farmer and a sportsman. I carry the sportsman because of the toothpick.

Depending on the day or occasion, I typically carry these combination's. The Swayback Jack -N- Sodbuster combo has been seeing the most pocket time lately.

Don't hang me for sacrilege! Everyone needs a beater(#2) to cut zip ties at work. Better to be honest than full of BS :o

But almost always 2 knives.

I slipped this one in my right front pocket the other day when I got it.

This one is in my left front pocket as always regardless of what's in my right front pocket.

I like a knife with a serrated blade as it comes in handy when fishing and I also like a one-hand opener so, it's one tradtional and one a bit more modern for me.

Alox Solo (sometimes swapped by Yella Case Penknife) in RFP and my ever present Alox Classic on key ring :)

Today I'm trying my new Queen Cutlery Barehead No.73 sheath knife paired with their No.6 Teardrop. The Amber carved bone is a very nice scale, the 73 even came totally sharp! Great fishing knife too I suspect. More modernist fans might like to know of Ken Onion's Genticals range(yes I got that right)the Ripple and Eros, They are his interpretation of the Gent's Pen-knife, ultra slim and unobtrusive.A modern inspired by a traditional.

I always carry a larger locking blade paired with a smaller slipjoint for the reason stated by the OP. Some people just aren't comfortable around large bladed knives. (However I think the use of the word used to describe non-knife people to be extremely insulting and rude...) I just like the idea of having a heavy duty knife to handle heavier, and often dirtier, chores that I prefer not subjecting the more delicate pivots of the smaller slippies to. I like knowing that small slippie in my pocket is sharp from ricasso to tip and while it isn't sterile enough for surgery I can cut fruit without worry.

The larger locking knife will normally ride in a belt pouch, either the one they came with or one from D.M. Bullard. This includes my Case Sharktooth, one of the Ag Russell Texas Ranger series, EKA Big Swede, Cold Steel Shinobu, etc.

The slippie will be whatever strikes my fancy that day when I am getting dressed. Case slippies, Camillus, Ka-Bar, Fight'n Rooster, Bulldog Colt...a barlow, small jack, stockman, split whittler, peanut...I have just to many to list. But often it will be a slippie I have a personal tie with. It also depends on my plans for the day...a scout knife or SAK will often go if the day calls for spending the day at the range while a peanut or baby butterbean is fine for a day spent shopping with my ex.

Of course without a pic this is all academic...lol. Here is what was in my pocket yesterday...a day spent mostly at a gunshow. In a DM Bullard pouch was my 2008 Texas Ranger gunstock lockback from AG Russell while the little shadow bone Case baby copperhead (62109W) was in my pocket.

Is that a sheath/holster for the lockback hunter?

Looks to be one from DM Bullard...I showed one as well but in brown...

Peruna, I didn't actually buy it for the mini lock back but it fits perfect. It was bought for a northfield big jack but the way northfields are shaped on the spine it was digging into the leather so I scrapped that idea. I use it for just about every large trapper I have except for my cs in stag( the stag is just too thick for it to fit comfortably ) and it works great.

Absintheur, you are correct it is a DM Bullard. I would love to get another one in brown but I heard his waiting list is months out. As far as the term "sheeple", I don't remember where I first heard it but we have been using it for years, it was never directed at non knife people it was used as a general term for the masses of people who have become afraid of their own shadows and everything else around them. I know plenty of non knife people that I don't refer to as sheeple but I also know plenty of sheeple that are afraid of inanimate objects that believe that you should not be allowed to have a knife or a gun or a stick because they themselves are afraid of those things. To me and my group of friends sheeple is not a term to describe non knife people it describes people who are afraid of life and living and who want everything changed to suit their fears.

No disrespect towards non knife people was intended. My mother and mother in law are not always thrilled with my choices in knives but I would also never refer to or think of them as sheeple.
