I've made a few more of these, since they went over so well last time. Both are forged to shape from Aldo's 1095 , with 2" blades and an OAL of 4 3/4"s. $60 a piece, includes shipping CONUS.

SOLD, First one up is handled in dyed Mule Deer antler, with a forge finish left on the blade.

Could you take a picture of the mule deer handle one + sheath next to a ruler? I'm awful at establishing size and scale from pictures without a reference point.

Sure can, along with my zippo for a little better size comparison.

Love these. Love the patch knife in general. Its a great concept as far as design goes. Thanks to le Google, I have seen lots of patterns that are referred to as patch knives- and although most tend to have a mini-trade thing going on, there is still plenty of room for personal embellishment but still keeping within the genre, so to speak.

My thoughts exactly, the patch knife was typically any small knife, that could be multipurposed for small game cleaning, whittling, patchcutting, etc.., and could be thrown into a possibles bag to accompany most trade items. So I wanted a simple forged design knife, that kept with a more traditional feel, from start to finish.

I really love many of the semitraditional small fixed blades I see out there. Small enough to pocket-carry but maybe just a tad more robust than a folder. Yours in particular!

Someone coined the term "quotidian carry" to help snuff out the unattractive debate that tends to arise when someone says "EDC" (the debate of course being that some people think this refers to the ONE TOOL that you ALWAYS CARRY 24/7/365 whereas others hold EDC to mean any every-day cutter that tends to work well for the variety of tasks a modern person might come across). I mention this bc I think one of these fellas would be just right for quotidian carry (lol).
