I'm gonna second the motion of that being a Tibetan Short Sword rather than Long. Mine is similar specs, 32", 50oz and I love it to death. It's by far the jewel of my collection.
John, the handle on mine is about 8.5", including both brass bolster and buttcap. Big enough that I can fit both hands on it, thiugh the sword is quite handleable with one.
Edit: ndog, I almost forgot, the apple mark, if that's what it is, is the mark of Ganga Kami. I have a 12" Siru made by him.
