2 New "Sprints" - Spur & Goddard

Thanks, Ted. It looks to be a smaller version of the C13 Pro Hunter, which is not one of my favorite Spydies. I think that I'll give it a pass. The Goddard, now, that is different. This is a possible keeper as it looks very nice. Does anyone have one of the original Lightweight Goddards and care to comment upon it?

That is exactly what it is. About 75%. Allthough this newer version does have a normal clip and VG-10 steel, and is available in PE.

Could we please have a picture of the Goddard when one is available, preferably next to a Delica or Endura so that we can compare size..
Thanks

Spur is more like the Pro Grip model just smaller. The hunter shape is different.

Live and learn. I had always thought that the Pro-Venator, as mine is named, and the Pro-Grip were just different names for the same knife. They certainly look the same in pictures. The difference must be fairly subtle.

The Pro-Hunter, Pro-Venator and Pro-Grip are the same knife model.

When the model (C13) was named the 'Pro-Hunter', someone discovered that that name was already registered. Then it was named 'Pro-Venator' (Venator is Latin for Hunter?). The name Pro-Venator however seemed hard to pronounce and was confusing, so the name 'Pro-Grip' was chosen.

The Hunter model (C03) had a different blade shape, and later it was upgraded with the same blade shape as the Pro-Grip line. It's model no# became 'C03PS', because it had a combo edge (CE) blade. The original Hunter was only available in PE and SE

Well mine is the orginal black FRN in ATS-55, not the new grey VG10 one, but here it is with a CF Delica and CF Police for size comp.

I really like the Goddard lightweight, blade is a nice size and shape for general use Nice big hole with very little hump, so its only a hair taller than the Delica when closed. Handle is comfortable to use and makes it darn near impossible for your hand to slide forward onto the blade. The handle does flex a bit if you put enough pressure on it, but have yet to find a large FRN handle that doesn't.

Does anyone know who is going to stock this knife????? I can't locate them anywhere.

Thanks again, Ted. I had often wondered what the name changing was all about. And, yes, "venator' is Latin for "hunter".

Spur...Navigator II...Kopa. Looks like another banner year for small Spydies. We need a drooling smilie.

We got both these in stock today and I have to say I love the Spur, I think it will become my next knife purchase. The Goddard is a larger knife than I like to carry these days but looks good, The engraved Signature on the blade impressed me more than anything lol I swear I have never seen anything etched, engraved or laser cut into a blade so perfectly. Don't take much to amuse me I guess :P I should have both these on the website tomorrow if the waether allows, been some nastly thunder and lighting storms here for the last 24 hours.

The Goddard was one of my favorite FRN models. I really loved that knife, so I am very excited to see the sprint run. I hope these sell at a record pace so maybe they can find their way back into the line up. The Goddard makes for an excellent tactical lightweight. The handle makes it harder for your fingers to slide onto the blade. A very ergonomic design as well.

Thanks Sal for bringing it back.

Shootist I was looking for a way to explain the grip of the knife, You did a nice job and I agree with you on it. The knife really gives you good purchase and prevents slipping up on the grip.

Got mine ordered, and couldn't resist a Centofante III, and a spare Calypso.
Temptation is strong, and I am weak. We make quite a pair...
