SimiChrome might be a bit too abrasive.
My mom kept it around for years after discovering it while in Germany.
She loved it for her silver.
For chrome on my Harley, and to clean up two old scout knives,
I use Mothers' Mag and Aluminum Polish.
Another good product, again m/cycle related is called "Blue Away".
It's designed to remove blue discoloration from exhaust systems.
I used to have a buddy that used toothpaste as a mild polish.
He would squirt a tiny dab in the action of a revolver,
dry fire it a few dozen times, and there ya go, instant cheap trigger job.

There is some kind of clear greasy stuff on the blade of my khukri and the two smaller knives that was on them when they arrived - I figure they probably put that stuff on to preserve that "new knife look" for as long as possible.

Also, I wanted to mention that I took some fine steel wool and rubbed it all over the horn handle for a better grip. It took away the shinyness in the handle but it's still quite beautiful. My grip is more secure now.
The overall legnth is about 15" - again, it's a Sirupati. I remember seeing a khukri in a knife store a while back that was larger and much heavier, so in comparison to other khukris it's just average size, although my wife seems to think it's huge - she's not familiar with khukris and knives in general.

For now I have some Johnson's Baby Oil to put on the blade. Do you think it will take away any slight discoloration/oxidizing on blade - or is it mainly to just protect from further oxidation?
