With so many other projects going on it seems it took forever to get a few knives off the bench. Here is one I have been juggling to get finished.

This fighter is of S35VN .172" with a 6" blade at a Rockwell of 60 and 10.75" OAL. It is a flat ground and wears some rayskin and Japanese cord wrap.

This little guy is 1/8" 01 with a 3" blade, flat ground with a rayskin and cord wrap handle.

Thanks for looking guys.

cool work... the Japanese cord thing always mystify's me

Thanks,

The wrap caught my attention many years ago when I saw it for the first time on Phil Hartsfield table at a knife show. I have been intrigued and drawn to it as well. The epoxy soaked cord grip is monolithic :) It literally has to be ground off to remove it. It is so tough and the grip is anti-slip even if your hands are wet and covered in fish guts :) It does not crack, split or get slippery.

The designs have me looking at it more then I should. I like looking at the handles done by Hartsfield, RJ Martin, Snody and Hayes. We have it easier then Hartsfield did back in the day. I asked him "How did you learn to wrap the handles" and he told me he learned by buying Japanese swords and taking them apart. So much easier with the internet now

Thanks Frank

Your opinion really counts
