These blocks came from a couple redwood burls we collected on our recent burl hunting trip. This is old stuff that has been sitting around for the past couple decades.
These redwood blocks are soft redwood so you will need to have them stabilized. There may be some scattered bug holes about pencil lead size and hairline checks in some of the blocks. They should fill in when you have the wood stabilized. Otherwise you may need to use a little CA glue to fill any that fall within your handle area. I trimmed away most noticable flaws.
The first 2 groups are cut from a burl cap. These show a dramatic contrast in colors with very chatoyant figure.
The contrasting colors in these would go great with a blade with a hamon.
The last 2 groups are lace redwood burl with excellent figure everywhere. You can't go wrong with any of these blocks. Really eye catching wood.
These photos show both sides of the blocks wiped with a damp cloth to give a better idea how they will look finished.
When you see blocks you want, just post "I'll take #s ...." and I will mark them sold for you. US shipping is $2.50 each or $10 for as many will fit in a flat rate box.
