Benchmade posted these 2 on their Facebook page. The Griptilian looks like it was sharpened on a belt grinder with a very coarse grit

Thought you lot would like to see them.

I saw those, my first thought was BS. Could be legitimate wear but I'm not really buying it.

Holy crap. The top one actually looks like it was done by someone who knew what they were doing but why on earth would you want a blade like that?

Looks some kind of strange... but not bad ;) I wouldn´t wanna have such a knife... the handles are definitelly too big

Kind regards

I saw Benchmade posted this in reference to their lifesharp program, but I'm a bit confused; would they really replace the entire blades on these?

Reminds me of my uncle's fillet knife, which probably sees use 100 days out of the year.
I thought I was going to break the thing when he handed it to me to clean some redfish!

I think it is not about warranty, that is about how really bad some people are with sharpening knifes by themselves. They simply do no thave a clue what they are doing!

I look at those and think they must be purpose-driven...like they needed and awl for work but love the handle or clip of the benchmades.

SO is the story that BM will continue to sharpen your knife until it looks like these, or that they will replace the blades of these under their lifetime warranty, or that this was just somebody screwing around?

I think Benchmade charges for new blades, but it's a pretty nominal fee, $25 last time I asked.

That's some hard use and hard sharpening...I have twice "used up" a knife until the blade looked somewhere between those 2, but it took about 1 or 2 years of EDC each and both knives were pretty soft steel (440A, AUS6) so sharpening happened about every 2nd day

This guy must have smoked a serious amount of meth before he got to sharpening these blades. That, or, he sharpened the knife every time he opened it.

looks like an over use of the blade, IE not enough stropping, too much sharpening. A lot of traditionals look like this after 30+ yrs, these models haven't been out for 10
