20 years on Bladeforums

Thanks for your service Chief!
I don't buy to flip but I can't abide by rule #2 so I will pass.

Good luck to all that enter!

Love your giveaway and terms John.
My nephew is in for the holiday from guarding the missile site in the Dakotas. Hard to believe, but I'm told it's one of both the hottest and coldest places in the US.

The removal of sale prices has been a pet peeve of mine, so I hope this helps.

I'm not in the giveaway,I've been given much more than I deserve already.

Congratulations on your 20th anniversary with BF, but more importantly, thank you for your long service to our great country. Both of my uncles were enlisted men in the Air Force in the 1950s. Not for as long as you, though!

I love your post: written with military precision and delivered with authority. Great rules, too. And encouraging good deeds: what could be better. Not sure yet if I will enter, although I will still try to perform good deeds. ("Do a good turn daily"). I just won a couple of GAWs, and don't want to be greedy. Those knives you posted are beautiful, and I have heard nothing but raves about GEC.

Good luck to all entrants, and God bless you, Chief.

Great GAW, love to hear stories about members here.
I would choose B
And I totally agree on the sales price thing.
Nice touch with the good deed... we need more of that kind of stuff. I am planning on helping my elderly neighbor put up Christmas lights. I hope that qualifies as a good deed.

Wow, congrats on the amazing milestone. What an amazing give-away!

Recently at my job, our department made a run up to Chico. We donated a bunch of clothing, toys and Visa gift cards to the Camp Fire victims. It was extremely sad to see the families displaced. Spoke with some other individuals who work in the same career as me that were displaced and it was hard to see. But they were grateful for all the support that they were receiving.

I'd love to be in and have a shot at D. The #99 is a pattern I have wanted to try out! Thanks for the opportunity. I will also keep my price set after a sale on the exchange.

Not and entry, but congratulations and a sincere thank you for your service and generosity.

Most excellent giveaway, Chief! Thanks for sharing your illustrious career, and for serving the people of your country. I'm content with my collection of knives at the moment, modest though it is. At the same time, WOW, what gorgeous knives!

However, I wonder if it would be acceptable for me to donate an entry as a good deed (1), agree to keep my price postings up on the exchange (2), and let the choice go to the recipient of my donation (3)?

If you are okay with that Chief Chief I'd like to add my entry to @r redden.

Kind of a subjective term and I'm not sure whether it dq's me or not.

Nebulous, good call, thanks. Edited original post "(further defined as plenty of cash to buy whatever you want so you probably have 50 plus knives)". Hmmm … after some deep thought there is nothing wrong with folks who have some cash being encouraged to do a good deed. Maybe that should be removed.

Chief Master Sargent, thank you for your years of service. The lives of every American has been and is being enriched by the members of our military, who honorably serve in our countries best interest.
Great GAW rules I hope all will consider following, even if not entering this generous GAW.
Congratulations John on your 20 years here! I've almost always enjoyed the excellent photos of your fantastic collection. Occasionally, I simply couldn't enjoy 'em. No matter how hard I tried... I was just too jealous. ;):D But don't let that stop you from posting... I'm working on it.;):)

Not an entry, but we should strive to do a good turn daily even to the point of seeking opportunities to do those good deeds and doing them cheerfully. I know that's how I try to live. I post that because Chief mentioned not a deed done long ago. We should each be able to post one from yesterday. This is a very cool GAW.

Not an entry Chief, just had to give a BIG THANK YOU for your years of service.

And I also support your stance on leaving the sale price. I always have and I always will.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Not an entry!

Thank you for your service to our country, John!

Your requirement about doing a good deed is the best requirement I've ever seen on a GAW - much respect to you, Sir!!

Wow amazing give away chief! Thanks for your service! And the opportunity. I think I meet most of them.

1) I don't like telling my deeds. But I will for this. The latest good deed is through my kids. We just selected two children from church who have almost nothing and we bring our kids to pick out their Christmas gifts. We really go above. We buy them every thing they put on their list. Toys, clothes, fishing gear and all. I want then to want for nothing and experience a true, good child's Christmas. It's heart wrenching to see, for example, on the little boys this year, "warm clothes". A child shouldn't have to ask for that so we make sure to cover all basis. Me and my family are blessed and I want to bless others.

2) I always leave up the selling price unless seller asks me to remove it (happened once cause he didn't want his wife to see what he paid lol) and will continue to do so.

The rest. I've never sold a knife that was given to me and never will. I have a decent small collection of some really nice pieces so I will admit that. Although not rich, I have been blessed throughout my life and try to always remember that.

All that said, thanks again chief! I will go in on A, such a beauty. And I've never owned a Barlow before!

Usually I say like my friend @Black Jack that I have been lucky (and how) on this forum, be it GAW or "simple" member's kindness.
BUT, boys, I'm a man and can't resist the n°1, ebony TC! :)
It happens I had a real (unscheduled) deed (scouts here say B.A. Bonne - Good - Action) last sunday in the tram, back from the rugby game, I was sharing a seat with an old lady, she was clearly uncomfortable with the new tram (it runs only since last saturday) and when she left at a station, she forgot her umbrella. I ran after her with the umbrella and she thanked me warmly. But she still looked in trouble and I understood that she had not all her head and felt lost in the new tram station replacing the bus station to which she was used to.
Finally I took her back to the nearby hospital where she happened to reside, she was back from a weekend leave (# no nurse to take care of patients ). She showed a great relief when she met the nurses. :)
All in all it took me about a half an hour, so no great deal for me!

##edit : sharing not shearing :)
