Or, "Holy Cow Ford Actually Made a Car I like For a Change!" Does anyone here have one? I've seen a very few driving around, and one parked at my unit's barracks. They sure do look nice, and 300 hp for under $25,000 is impressive to say the least. I've never been a big fan of mustangs or Ford in general until now, but I may have to get one of these someday.

i havent liked the mustang since like '71 or '72 BUT i do like the new mustangs, they look retro to me, like a '68 kinda, pretty cool though imho.

best 'stang? '70 boss 302 w/the shaker scoop and spoilers and sportslats, red w/black stripes, absolutly positivly the best 'stang ever imho (in '77 i had a '73 Z/28 and almost swapped it for a boss like the one above wished i would have....)

I just recently bought a 2004 Cobra because I couldn't stand the look of the 2005 Mustangs! They won't have a Cobra until 06 though. Personally, I'm a fan of the retro look but IMHO the new Mustangs are ugly, I much prefer the previous body style than the new one. Then again, Opinions are like... :D

BTW, don't ask me about Ford "Quality" :barf:

the last real Mustang was the '73. But I'd have to say the '05's resemblance to the '67-'68 is pretty friggin cool. I'd let one stay in the driveway ;)

Frank

P.S. now if Chevy would just make a new Camero with a tip of the hat to the '67...

Uh, the new mustang handles really well according to Road and Track.
I'd love a BOSS 429

I think your brain is stuck in the 70's there Plumber. Here's a quote from the edmunds.com review I read:

"The handling and steering feel are so impressive, in fact, that several road test editors that drove the car back-to-back with the new '05 Corvette felt that while the 'Vette is a bit faster in terms of actual performance numbers, the Mustang is actually more fun to drive."

Edmunds 2005 Mustang review

Now, I've never driven either a Corvette or a Mustang so I can't really speak with authority, but after reading that I don't think it's fair to dismiss the new Mustang's handling just because it shares the same name as those old cars that were built for nothing but straightline speed. This isn't a sports car nor does it pretend to be. It's a big engine wrapped in good-looking sheet metal that's priced for those who like big engines but can't afford a Corvette or a Viper. God knows I would love to have an exotic car that handles like a Formula 1 racer but I'll probably never have enough money to buy or insure one. But even as a 21 yr. old Army Specialist I can save up enough to buy this car in a year or two if I work at it. And really that's what this car is all about IMO; it's attainable, unlike a 'real' sports car. So forgive me for appreciating something so vulgar and tacky, but guess what? I'm not asking you to drive it. There's a big wide world of cool cars out there with something for everyone, so please don't feel the need to crap on someone else's idea of a dream car just because it doesn't match up with your own.

They are the redeeming values to the overwhelming abundance of the so-called "rice-rockets". BTW, did anybody know that they are discontinuing the Crown Vic in 2009? That is so surprising, IMO. Gone are the big, RWD V8 all-American sedan.

I love the front of the '05s. Looks really nice. The back will have to grow on me though.
