I don't think anyone has started a thread as yet on receiving their 2006 Club knife.

Mine came a few minutes ago.

I think I will wait a while before I talk about it.

I didn't order one...should I be relieved that I didn't??? :confused:
 
Here are some pics to start. My first dissapointment was that the gold etched logo doesn't "line up" with anything. There is one other that you might pick out of these first pics. There will be some reflection in some of these.















Sorry for sticking so many in here, you get a different angle on some of them and may get a different perspective of my dissapointment. This is a nice little knife. I just like etchings to line up with something. This one just looks throwed on there. and there is one other "mystery" thing that is bugging me.
See if someone else picks up on it...

lol.... I hope it is just me with the crooked logo....lol....is there a hole in the handle....well I'll B :p

I believe all the Alphas are holy.
 
Uh oh, I hope I didnt open up a can of worms ;)
It may be hard to line up a logo with something on a small spear point blade?
I would say they went for lining it up with the spine of the blade.
I didnt get one but I do like it :D
Do you have a full picture of the knife opened? Maybe that would help?

:cool: ...Some of the pics seem to show washed out stamps...That might be photo distortion too though...:confused: :confused:...???
 
The pics will show some lighting variation,,,is why I included so many. Tried various light angles just to show the :richness" of the gold etch. It is really nice.

The grind lines are ok, again light and angle distortion . The stamps are as good as most.

Holding the knife in hand the logo doesn't center up on the tip. I wish it would have lined up under the grind radius line'

Ok,,,saying it another way...(I am lousy at this) Each end of the banner, imho, should have been center of the blade at each end. I think that would have balanced the logo ....

FWIW.... It was the wife that jumped on this the minute I flicked it open... But I agreed.... We are just weird I guess....

No one has hit on the "mystery" gripe as yet...

You got it bud.... This is a 2006 BCCI knife...... Just think how this will drive some collector nutso in about 75 years if he has no documentation of the etch delays. It clearly says 2006 on the banner..

I know....no big deal....but still.....
 
This is the only dorado I have....do they all have that offset in the spine?

MAYBE you have a one of a kind that is doubling in value as we type!!
A factory error!The proto!!! Maybe they all will be worth more ;)

I think that is REALLY MESSED UP BTW. A 2006 etched knife with a 2007 stamp???? Like a basket case knife (riders will know what that means).
Sometimes, it seems, that Buck can't die right.

Ya know, I was looking at that pic of the tang stamp and thinking what Doc D was saying...that being the "wash out". I see the same on one of my 889LE.
Guess it happens with the mirror finish crap (that I hate). The other 889LE I have, a 110, Scimitar, and Akonua mirrors I have don't "wash out" though.

Saw that tang stamp and thought, "2007" but didn't put it together.

What????:eek: :eek: :eek: I doan get nutin for it jumpin on me as soon as I calmed from the crooked logo ???...lol.... y'all gotta understand about blood pressure in us older n dirt guys...:( :D

Jim gets an Atta Boy and first on the list should I,, say,,,become totally disenchanted with it... :rolleyes: :p
