2006 Wolverine Knife Show - Novi, Michigan

Hey Mike..

Yaa kind of sucks I can't go,, but blasting some turkeys just has to take Priority...

As for the harassment,, everytime I see Mike,, something is either caught on fire,,burning or Exploding...

Last year at Novi,, there was something about the motel on fire,, or something burned there.. This year at Knob Creek there were cars, boats and semi trailers burning..
I'm starting to see a pattern !!! :)

Eric...

Old habits die hard. Nice pics! Coming back to the Knob in the Fall?

Hey Mike...

Thanks

I'm going to try my hardest to get there this fall.. Want to take the whole family.. I think it was That Cool!!

We'll have to see though, as I'll be just getting back from a Deer hunt first week in Oct,, and a Black Bear early Sept,,so my bank account is Really going to be drained..

One thing I'm really wanted to do at Novi was for you to teach me that straight out flip, known from this day on as the "Sastre Flip"..

That was really cool..
Have been trying it,, and I still can't do it,, even with the bigger blades..

That's a Very effective (and fast) draw method..

So your going to have to teach me the next time we meet, possibly at the Creek.....

Have a Great show Mike..til we meet again..

Eric...

Eric you Turkey! Not going to the show eh, too bad man, sorry to hear that. Well, Bud didn't make it this year either. We'll catch you next year. Beside we're too close not to meet up during the year anyhow.

BTW, nice pics. I'm glad you had the good sense to have a pic with a weapon using a Trijicon optic. ;) Keeps me employed. :) Now the sense in having the pic with Sastre, hawking is wares, brave man to post that. :D

They put Mike in the opposite side of the hotel where you won't see the burn marks from the road.

Eric you'll be missed. Get a gobbler for us.

Take care,
Tom

They like to keep me hid. I used to have to stand in the corner and face the wall in school as a kid.

Eric,

Main deal with opening is to have the knife traveling straight up and down (pivot to sky) while moving forward. At end of stroke, let your wrist snap(crack the whip), but micro seconds before reaching final extension, try to pull the handle off the blade. Knife will open as it rocks to level in your hand, with butt nestled in your palm.

Gah... I HATE dropping knives at shows. I feel like such retard when it happens.

I was at the show today and was working on a deal with one of the vendors, and I was waiting for him to finish up with another customer. As I went to the table next to him to burn some time, I picked up one of their $10 automatic knives and flicked it open a few times. I ended up dropping it, to which the vendor was pretty cool about it... but I still felt like an asshole. I get bad enough treatment there based on my age (20), now I'm dropping knives to prove that point to those people.

What they don't know is that I have bladeforums.... and I'm fairly content that I know more then they do about knives. :)

Anyway, thats my story. I picked up a couple items I've been looking for, and tried out the Kershaw ET. I was not impressed. Its just a gimmick, I don't see it being any more useful in the real world then the Mini Griptilian I bought while I was there.

It was fun to toss around a butterfly knife after a vendor told me that they were only to be handled by "experienced users." He must not have seen the BM31 clipped to my pocket...

Oh well, good show guys!
