2007 BFC Knife Pattern Vote (vote here)

For those of you who are confused as to what a canittler looks like, here's a shot of the prototype for the knife Canal Street's making for the Wolverine Knife Club. This is probably identical to what we'd get.
Eric

Eric Sweetie-Pie.... How come we have to get a knife that requires hard fingernails to open the blades? I can never get these kinds of knives open. :grumpy: I'm still gonna get one, but I'm gonna pout about it. :p

**A little update here to confuse things even more: I spoke with Canal Street today regarding blade steel choices. The stockman and whittler are 420 stainless, but the cannitler will be D2, as that's how they'll be offering the knife as the production model. Those are the steels offered on those patterns, with no changes possible. If anyone wants to change their vote because of this, go right ahead, I'll sort it out. I'm really curious about something though; are there many of you who would use this knife as a full blown EDC? To me the steel isn't so important that it would affect my choice since I intend to mount our annual knives on the wall in a nice glass case that I made. I guess if I were to use it for slicing and dicing on a daily basis it would make somewhat of a difference, but these are a little too special for me. Anyone going for the carry?

Eric

I'll use mine!.. I proudly use my ring knife as an Sunday-go-to meet'n edc. Had to break that one in as it was stiff as a board truth be told. It functions like a dream now though, really luv that A~2.:cool:

BTW, I just addore Splitback Whittlers but I did not think we had a prayer %age wise for that one.. :(

Whatever the final knife is to be, lets be sure and have the blade etch in a style similar to this example and not the big honkin' block letters like on the ring knife. Otay?

no way man-i want even bigger letters-in red blood colored ink-

D2 Canittler.... since I won't likely get "my way" & see a swell-center Moose pattern.

....and yes, I carry ALL my knives (save for a few sentimenal near- and over-centerian hand-me-downs).

You guys have me rethinking my EDC'ing ways. I generally carry one knife 'till it's about worn out, and pretty much keep my others under lock and key so to speak until I need another (except for the weekend dress up knife). I guess I'm missing out on a lot of the joy you get from carrying some of your favorites.

Eric

PS- Sure seems like we have a lot of lurkers and not so many voters , c'mon folks, this is your knife , give us your input. :D

Okay now I'm votin. Cannitler in D2 all the way!

Edited: I carry my 2006 BFC ring knife (it's my office EDC) and I'll carry this one. Need good steel!!

Seems like the votes are dwindling pretty well. Is everyone OK with maybe ending this on say Sunday night? I'll then let Canal Street know about our results and request a list of scale choices and tweeks available for the winning pattern. We can then run a vote on those and be ready for an order. Let me know what you think, and get those last minute votes in. Frankly, I'm in a massive state of confusion myself regarding my pattern choice. I really like them all, but I think I'll shoot for the new kid on the block.
Cannitler

Eric

I plan on using it, so it'll be a Cannitler in D2, with stag handles preferably.

BTW- has anyone googled "cannitler" yet? Only two results come up, neither of which work. The images show Wade's avatar and a "No Safe Queens!" image from bladeforums...

Since D2 is an option, I switch to that abomination of a whittler - canittler :D.
