I want to be the first to congratulate Chris, Anne, and the entire staff at Chris Reeve Knives for winning two awards at tonite's "Knife of the Year" awards banquet at the 2008 Blade Show. The competition for these awards was very stiff, which makes winning that much more sweet.
For the 8th time in the last 9 years, CRK won the "Manufacturer's Quality Award", which is awarded based on, not any single model, but a company's entire portfolio of products. To win this award so consistently over the years is a real tribute to the dedication, hard work, and pursuit of quality on the part of the entire CRK organization.
CRK's newest folder, the Umnumzaan, won the top award of the show, the "Overall Knife of the Year". This was an especially meaningful award for the team. In accepting the award, Chris talked about the innovations he had been considering for years that culminated in the Umnumzaan, his emergency trip to South Africa to attend to family business just as the design was being finalized, and the extraordinary effort that he and the CRK staff made to get the 1st 20 prototypes ready for the show.
To Chris, Anne, and the rest of the staff -- congratulations on the fantastic achievements that these awards represent.
