Well, I have closed the polls and it looks like the winner is:

A stockman in stag with 1095 blades.
Several people made additional notes and it is time for a dialogue around those alternate blade thoughts

Please select as size and nade material from the current poll and post.

I will start.
I would like a small traditional stockman in true stag.

For a forum knife in stag it has to be "true stag". As for size my preference is for medium, or small barring that. I wouldn't buy a large.

I would like an equal end cattleman with spearpoint blade in true stag.

I much, much prefer true stag ... so had to vote for that.

My real preference is for a large Stockman, but I seriously doubt that most of my Forum Brothers and Sisters would want that -- so I voted for medium instead. [I'm in training with Totally Judy to improve my insight and compassion towards others!]

There's nothing wrong with a nice medium-sized Stockman. :thumbup::D

Medium true stag sounds great to me.

I'd settle for a medium, but I prefer a large, so that's how I voted (I flunked sensitivity training, I vote for what I want :D)

I voted Large with true stag.

With that said I will be getting what ever we have made and maybe more than one!!:D

I voted small, true stag. I'll be happy with the majority however. None of the choices are bad.

I put in for medium with bonestag.

Why? Quality of real stag can be very variable...of course when it's good there's no contest.

(Still would like a Barehead Trapper with Wharncliffe though....recount?)

Medium with any sort of stag with clip, sheepsfoot and PEN blades, and rounded bolsters.

I would be most satisfied with a small stockman (think Buck Cadet sized), though a 340T sized stockman wouldn't be a deal killer. I prefer true stag as well, but bone stag would also be acceptable.

I think it would be really awsome if we could get the clip blade to have a spear point to it, like the Bucks or old Case. I just don't like the Schrade style clip blade as much- that spear-point addition is just plain cool. I also prefer a slightly thinner-width clip blade profil (a-la the Buck- not the well worn and abused Case) If we could get some graceful curve to the handle, that would be pleasing too.
I prefer the longer profile spear-point on the Buck.

For the nail nicks, I think that straight line nail nick, like that of the AG Russell Swing Guard would be nice, as would the similar type with the small verticle lines added (I don't know the technical name for that type- sorry).

It is never to early to campaign for 2009!

Medium, true stag for me. The choice is not just based on what I want but what fits the gaps in the collection. If this counts as me on the list to have one - perfect. David

Hi neeman,

I am new to this as well! What I will do now, is try to find a manufacturer that will make what we have decided we want.

If I do, I will let everyone know the price and we will move forward with the order.

If I do not, we may have to fine tune our choies to match what we can get.

Delivery date will likely be around this time next year.

There may likely be a few things I have not thought of, but someone will help point them out.
