I was kind of wondering how that Roman numeral date would turn out, but now that I see it I think it's lookin' mighty classy:D:D:thumbup:

Thanks for those photos Gus. I feel very lucky to be a (future) recipient of one of these knives. These knives knives show the wishes and designs of a great group of people (the Trad forumites), the selflessness of our anonymous stag donor, and were seen to fruition by the dynamic duo of Gus and STeven. If it wasn't for Gus's planning and STeven's Patton-like doggedness, the results would have fallen far shorter than what we see in that photo. A thank you to everyone that helped brainstorm this knife, and a much greater THANK YOU! to Gus, STeven, and our donor.
 
Steven and Gus, nice work, your time and effort resulted in a really nice, as well as unique project. Once again, thank you and our stag donor. Nice knives to start off the new year with. Happy New Year to you and my fellow forumites!
 
Wow - these came out better than could have been hoped. Usually things done by committee look like it. Congrats to all in the process. I am sure glad that I bought in! :D I was sure I'd carry it - not sure I can bring myself to do it after seeing the pics!
 
Oh man are these sweet! I can't wait to get my grubby paws on this knife.

Still can not put any weight on my left foot, but at least it does not flop around any more when I take the boot off to shower. Went to doc today for a check and it is doing well. He said he has 30 y.o. that have not healed as fast.

I am hoping to be able to start mailing within two weeks. I have looked at about 20 of them and there is not a bad one in the bunch. They all look good.

You needed to be around when the call first went out, quite some time ago. They had to be designed and manufactured and all that sort of thing. Those who were in on the discussion and put their name down got one. There is only a certain number made. Keep your eyes open for when discussion of this year's knife starts. (Assuming there is to be one. Hopefully there will.)

I suppose you could always offer one of the lucky recipients a large sum of money for theirs. I'd like my mortgage paid off ...... ;) :)

Good to hear it's healing well mate. Do what the docs say, don't try to rush it and soon you'll be out dancing with the goats again. :)

Great new about the healing! Take care of it and you will be kicking people around again in no time! No hurry on the knife, I wait (well maybe).

Wonderful! I attribute this positive progress to your close relationship with the hardy goat. Those are some tough critters -- and that has obviously worn off on ya!:)
