Thanks Dan! When you return, please update this to reflect the $75 paid for this (I took over another's deposit for a Bushmaster and shifted that $$$ to here for the 3V blank). Let me know if you need the specifics again - but I'm sure you have it down.

How are these coming along? I don't mean to bother Dan, I am just excited about some new steel.
 
I can't believe how long these are taking me to finish. I had high hopes of jumping right on 'em when I got back...but it took me 3 days to dig my way out through the pile stacked up while I was gone.

I need to finish the tangs to 400 grit, deburr the edges, etch my mark, finish sand, clean-up and sharpen...then I'll be done. Doesn't sound like a lot...maybe 20 minutes?!? But times that by 60...:foot:

They'll be done when they're done...

Looking forward to my new Koster Bushcraft ! Ordered it as my "Nastiest Weather Bush knife" with CPM 154, orange G-10 scales, stainless steel bolts & lanyard, black liners, and "mount anywhere/anyhow you can imagine" kydex sheath set-up (mounting hardware direct shipped & there in days). I am number six on the sign up & am paid in full however I have no knowledge of any being sent. I wouldn't even try to speculate if any have been shipped or received yet but would be very interested in any further information.

About now I'd really appreciate another photo progress report to keep the anticipation and attitude level elevated.

I'm going through the list today - hope to have all the updates done!



In the meantime, here are some pics:


Wood handles are finished now and the synthetic handles are bead-blasted (takes FOREVER to get this done).

I've still got a box of glued-up knives I have yet to start the handle work...but today is the day! Everything else is finally out of the way.

And you can see the blanks I still have left....:eek:

Update: add 1 Kydex sheath ($35)

hot damn! maybe I shouldn't have ordered the ironwood, though; those look almost too pretty to use.
