well i am sad about the 2008 calendar not being compleated and told my self that we as knifemakers need a calendar. and now is the time to do it as there is still lots of time. i know that some of you might still have a bad tast in your mouth because of the last atempt by another maker. i will aproch it a little diffrent. i will not take any money or pre orders. you will be ordering the calendars from an online printing company that ships right to you. i dont want to deal with handleing the money or shiping. the calendar pictures will come from you, members of blade forums. so submit pictures of your knives and i will photoshop them and arange 3-5 pictures per page. we can make this work

A far better idea, Jarod. I'll see about sending you some photos. What format and size do you want the files in?

Stacy

what ever you have. file format is not a big deal as i use photo shop and it handles about any thing even .raw. as for size send the bigest you got and that will alow me to play with sizes and quality.

I was disapointed that it didn't work out last year. I'd like to participate on this one. Can I email some pics to you? Thanks.

the pictures i have gotten look amazing. now we are going to have another problem. and that is selecting what ones to use. im thinking sence this calender is yours you should decide what pictures you want. what do you think about this idea.

there are 2 sizes of calendars im looking at. one is
11.5 X 9 (11 X 8.5 picture size)
and the other is
17.5 X 11.5 (17 X 11 picture size)
the biger one is 5 bucks more but it will give more room for knife goodness :D

the pictures im getting are very sweet. just remember i need large sized pictures. i have been getting pictures in the 640 x 480 range. i dont know if that will work. the calender company wants as high qualty as posable so it does not look blury. thay want around 200 DPI, your moniter is set to show 72 DPI.

send a few that you think are your best then we will see if we can fit them all, if not then we can pic.

I don't know how to send bigger pictures. I keep saving them bigger in my photobucket account but they upload and are the same size everytime. ANyone have any ideas?

JT I think the calender needs alittle restriction on the photos that are being sent to you. If all of the pictures for the calender were along the lines of your avatar allot more calenders would be sold. :) Just a thought.

well that might be true. but maybe not everyone has a super hot girlfriend that is willing to model there knives :D

I'm thinking it would look best if i photo shop out the background of the knife pictures so it looks like all the knives are sitting on a white background. But if the background is way cool them we can work that in. that way i can fit more knives in the calendar. Im guessing around 60 total with 2 to 3 per maker.
