Well, it's time. I have lurked here enough and learned an awful lot. I have remarked here and there where I felt I had something of value to add. Now it is time to give something back, so here we go.

I have a NIT (New in the Tube) Schrade Walden 708. All I have done is clean it up a little bit and put a nice edge on it. The main blade sits a little low on the spring when open, but functions fine. Lovely knife, but too small for me. It needs a nice home. I've been saving this one for when I finally hit the big 2-0-0.

The giveaway is open to all on here. I will ship outside CONUS, but understand the knife will likely take a slow boat. Your post number is your entry. I will keep this open until midnight, Saturday, Memphis time.

As for other entry guidelines, talk me into a traditional knife I should have.

Thanks for all of your posts. I've learned a lot reading on here.

Thanks for change and your generosity! You like handfuls? Take a look good ol' full sized trapper. There's no job that knife can't and certainly fits on larger hands too.

Thanks for the chance, as for a traditional you need: it is a Dr's knife. They are slim and ride really well in the pocket with alot of blade packed into a small package. I have a German Bull Dr's knife that gets time in my pocket.

Thanks for keeping the generosity going! No collection is complete without a Case Swayback Jack!

Cool, thanks for the giveaway

If you don't already, get a classic buck 110. One of those is mandatory :)
A nice GEC wouldn't be a bad choice.

very nice knife...I would like a chance at it...as for what knife for you to get, you cant go wrong with a VIC SAK

I submit that you need that most traditional of Victorinox Swiss Army knives: An alox Soldier. The problem is, if you're a guy who uses knives hard, your Soldier will only last 25 years or so.

Methinks you need a Case Mini-Copperlock in Stag. Sweet little pocket-friendly knife. OR a Texas Jack. Definitely a Texas Jack.

Thanks bud.

Queen teardrop. They make a single blade liner lock or a two blade slippie. Both are nice.

Count me in on this. My recommendation is a stag handled canoe pattern. Several makers do this including case. Canal Street has a sweet cannitler pattern. Since I started carrying my Fightn Rooster canoe, I find it in my pocket quite a bit.

I'm a Copperlock fan too, but I like the big one a bit more than the mini. But I have two of both. I've got several canoes as well. I have a Case baby butterbean. It's a pretty nice knife, but too small for me. I'm thinking about giving it away here to pay forward. Look for the giveaway at 100 posts.

If that 708 was a little small, you ought to find an 825 or 895, the 3 9/16" Schrade or Schrade Walden. The three blade versions are easier to find.

Or get one of those Case Swaybacks in Chestnut Bone. Nice giveaway.

I will always say that you don't have a collection if you don't have a Toenail. Everyone needs at least one knife requiring two hands.
