And great steel! :thumbup::thumbup: I will have to get my hands on one! It is the only folder that has cought my attention in a while of benchmade since the 550HG came out.

same here. The first thing I thought was Wilkins Griptilian without the custom grips. They will sell really well as the griptilians have in the past

and that is what it felt like in the hand too. Really diggin the bone collector series.
of course I could go to my local brick & mortar store and pay MSRP + , but I ain't spent a dime in the place in many many years.

now, they are basically the same balisong, no more models... nothing
They are both really nice, but from Benchmade (...you know the "butterfly manufacture") I would like to see the 42 back and even more models, at least 4 balisongs, in the blue class, not just dream options in the gold class.
Luckily I have a 42, but I really don't understand & like this lack of interest in balisongs by the historic producer of the balisongs.
I hope that the BM staff will change this in the future, I know that balisongs are not convenient to made, but damn... it's Benchmade!

They're still plenty of great dealers, Knife Works and KnifeCenter come to mind.

Wow. I'm getting totally confused.
Lessee, we have a price on the manufacturer's site. But we know we don't pay that.
Then we have a discounted price on the vendor site. Do we pay that? Apparently not.
Ok, lets put it in our shopping cart and see...hmmm....is that it? Maybe not.
Guess we need to phone (wow, phone's do still exist...who knew!) and ask for the price...OK...we got!
But wait....we really need to call 2 or 3 vendors to find out if we have a good fair price.
Whew! I think we finally got the "ultimate selling price"
That was only slightly more complicated than buying a car. And I can still love the manufactuer because I know all this work wasn't his fault since they firmly stated "that we do not dictate the price at which a dealer must sell our product".
Hopefully Edmunds will put up a site so folks who don't frequent the knife forums can find out what the price of a knife should be.
I am not talking about anyone in particular but,if you are the type of person who will drive all over town trying to find the best price on a can of beans then this pricing system won't suit you. Benchmade's policy isn't that complicated and really makes sense from a business standpoint. It really boils down to if you want their products or not.

Its not about ten cents on a can of beans, its more like a minimum of ten dollars, more than likely 20 to 30 dollars. That might not seem like much to some, but to those of us that aren't picking up the dollars bills from the tree in the front yard, that is. Now bear in mind, I'm not cheap, I rarely use coupons because usually they're not worth the pain it is to use em. What it really boils down to is nonsensical pricing schemes. Why not just make the msrp what the customer actually pays not some arbitrarily high number. Wouldn't mind a price hike if they're just be straight forwards with everything instead of complicating things with strategy.
Sorry for the rant, its just a shame to see a good company with such fine products do such silly things.
