2010 BFC Knife Shipping Updates

2 arrived here in Adelaide this morning, I wasn't in the 1st post either :)

Very nice! All 4 blades are nail breakers but will loosen in time with some oil and playing.

Thanks Eric and guys!

Got mine today!!
Quite pleasing to see the results of our journey. This HUGE committee made a great knife.
We could have made one of these committee Horses!:D

(Remember this cute little girl:rolleyes:))

Queen did a great job with very old dies and ancient equipment. I don't think they will try and punch out any more heavy gauge steel with it, until they build new dies.
For those who missed it, this pattern was first built around WWI!! (that's WW-one, not WW-two!) I just wonder if the dies go back that far?? I congratulate them. They are in a tough position. I'd hate to see them fall like Schrade and Camillus!!

Thanks everyone!

Still waiting for mine. Has only been 7 to 10 days since it was shipped, though. I usually wait a minimum of 13 days for anything shipped from the US to Saskatchewan. Hopefully this week, very much looking forward to getting that package.

Just got mine in the mail today, nice little surprise as I've been too busy to watch the forums for updates lately.

Wow, a nice looking knife and feels better in my hand than I thought. A nice stout working knife.

Thanks to all those involved.

I don't think it'll be long before they close their doors Charlie. They've already started to "dress down" their Schatt & Morgan line. Here's a quote from a dealer's site about the Schatt & Moran XX Series.

"This new XX Series has some very nice models. Nice swedges and lines. The backsprings are tighter than we are accustomed to from Queen as well (sowbelly is typical of a 5Blade). But they have gone to more of a rough cut satin finish on them to maintain pricing levels. So please understand they are not mirror polished blades; they are more like the Dan Burke Barlow series. And the bone color varies from light to darker middles."

It'll be too bad if they do close. They need to start spending some money for new equipment or at the least equipment repair.

Hope your pockets are above water, Steven!! :)
Water down your way?? :(

Today mail brought me my BF2010 knife. They told me in phone I would need to go personally for getting it out of custom's and it seems they released it O.o I am now happy!! Mine is nearly perfect. End cap for clip point has small gap what fits a piece of paper but that is minor and there little bit day light shining between back spring and kliner at the end from 1,5cm length (around 1" ) or less. I am very happy this quality is excellent.minor blade play on both blades which I fixed. At the scale 1-10 the pull on spear blade is 8 and clip point 6 or 6½. Even bevels. Love at the first sight :)

A knock on the door this afternoon from the Postman was greeted by a big smile from me as I checked where the box came from.

I must say that when this particular pattern was preposed with ebony I was not enthusiastic. Nevertheless I put my money down for two and I am so happy I did.
They are really fantastic little edc knives. The swell centre fits the hand beautifully and the different blade styles are really practical.
Mine need a little touch up on the stones but I look forward to putting one in my pocket on a regular basis.

Thanks again to everyone who made this project fly.:)

Pics to follow.........

Yesterday, coming back home from work, there was a note left from my postman on my front door: "...tried to deliver a package but no answer. Your package will be available tomorrow at our distribution center located...".

Heeeeha!

Needless to say, after work today, I rushed to my neighborhood grocery store (where they leave postal package fro people to pick up) to get my goodies :D Upon getting the box (and paying my $30 for taxes...grrr :)), I noticed it said "two pocket knives" on it...

Huh? Two??? That's right! I TOTALLY forgot I ordered two of those

I'm so glad I did the right thing and ordered two! A big THANK YOU to everyone on the team for this project: good job guys! My knives are awesome :thumbup: I'll take some pictures when the sun comes up :o

Thanks again!

Any luck, Dan??

Kind of thought they might be here today, but no luck. Should be here next week.

Thanks to Queen and the bladeforums team!!!

I should receive mine in about a week (or two)! I am blessed that one of my wonderful BF friends just happened to have ordered an extra one and is generous enough to let me buy it from him.

I'm going to be more attentive this year, to make sure I get my order in for the 2011 knife. Then I will have 3 BF knives. Is that cool or WHAT? :D

Thank you, Wonderful Friend. You know who you are...

Peter,

Here's a quote from the USPS:

"Your item was processed through and left our JAMAICA, NY 11430 facility on December 23, 2010. The item is currently in transit to the destination."

I'm thinking that Jamaica was the last stop before it headed overseas, so it looks like it's on a mighty slow boat! Kind of weird since it was sent by Priority Mail. I'll let you know if I get any other info.

Eric,

thanks for the update! I appreciate it very much.
Patience is everything :)

Regards, Peter

My knives came today. Both are very nice, no liner/backspring gaps, no rubs, both blades dead centre on both knives. I really like the ebony and the bar shield. Oiled the joints and wrapped one back up and put it away. Sharpened up the other, it took quite awhile to get it good and sharp. Haven't put it in my pocket yet as I can't quit playing with it, but it will be in my pocket when I head off to work tomorrow.
Many thanks to everyone involved in designing and getting these built and getting them out to everybody.

Thanks
Dan

That's great Dan!
Now I can relax. . . . a little . . . .just a few more to come in for a landing!!
