The 2009 Fishing Season PIC Thread was a lot of fun. Has anyone started a 2010 thread? I've looked, but can't find one.

Thanks for starting another fishing pic thread. No pics from me yet, the water's got this obnoxious hard stuff on top of it right now (and I don't ice fish). Give me a couple months!

Same here.

I love to fish but there ain't a fish alive that's going to trick me into sitting on a bucket on a wind swept frozen lake for hours.

I might have a pic to post by the end of March.

That's OK, even with open water everywhere, I haven't been been out yet this year. That's why I didn't have a fish picture to post. I plan on hitting the Owen's soon!

Yeah I can't forsee going out on the water for at least a couple more months. It's cold up here in NC. I'm a tropical Rat and not used to this dammit.

Being summer time over here has given me the chance to get out & do some fishing.

First up is a compilation video of some of the fishing we were able to do whilst on holidays at the coast in early January

Next is a quick video of a flyfishing trip for carp last Saturday

I'll put up some pics this afternoon when I get home from work

Kind regards
Mick

Great videos, thanks!

I ran across a great fishing show on WFN (World Fishing Network) the other day. It's called "Fishing Western Australia". It's definitely worth watching, especially if one doesn't get to fish over there.

I'll contribute this weekend. I'm a pretty avid ice fisherman, as well as all the other types. I'm going fishing tomorrow and Saturday, I'll take the camera.

Here's a couple of pics of the carp that was caught on the trip that the video was taken...

Awesome! I can't wait go fishing. I'll try to get some pictures at the May opener here.

Man, I'm starting to get fishing cabin fever from this thread. I suppose I could always go grab some bass out of the local lakes, but I'd really like for the snow to melt so I can get up to the mountains.

No I don't eat them. I catch them for the sport (they are strong fighters, especially on a 4 wt fly rod :D ).

Over here they are considered an introduced pest species & local regulations prohibit the release of live fish. So they are humanely dispatched and left to feed the birds.

OK...good... :D

Yes they do fight! and a 4 weight!?! I can only imagine. I have an 8 wt bass flyrod that i use (just a cheapie shakespeare that i got many moons ago) and that is quite a fight...cant imagine 4 wt! Awesome! I think im going this weekend...for the first time in 3 years! Been WAY too long. It (fishing season) has been keeping me up at night...

Nice pic's Southercross, those redfin look almost identical to freshwater perch here in Canada, bet they are scrappy.

I want to start carp fishing in the sloughs and backeddies around here, how are you catching yours on the fly? PM me if this is derailing.
thanks

I haven't been out fishing yet this year, but I was on a hike along a brook this past weekend and noticed a bunch of great-looking trout (up to 20" or so) attempting to make their way upstream. Here's a shot of one of them. Honestly, there's a fish in there! I could have reached in and hauled out a beautiful dinner.

The fish is in the middle of the shot, with the tail near the rock and the body curving up and to the left:

All the best,

Nice pick Mentor.

If you have a good pair of polarized sunglasses you can hold the glasses infront of the camera lens to get a better picture. It will take all the glare off and let you see right in.
