Hi Folks -

To order your knives, by Friday May 27, 2011, go to the sticky that is titled "***order your 2010 forum knives!!!***"

Please follow the instructions in the order thread to send in your information and payment. It is very important to follow the instructions and send the correct data with your payment to save Chris (cj65) a lot of trouble and headaches.

We will be allowing over three weeks for members to get their orders in. Hopefully everyone will see these threads by then.

Tell your buddies to get their orders in, so that word gets around quickly, and we can give GEC a total, so they in turn can schedule the knives.

Our goal of getting the knife made for under $100 shipped was met and we are still well ahead of our goal of making sure all members have their knives in hand before Christmas 2011.

This should be a real stunner of a traditional knife, and our run will be the very first run of this pattern from GEC on all new tooling!

Here is an Artists Rendition of what the knife POTENTIALLY will look like - this is a composite image, and is not exact but will be close to the finished knives from GEC:

And cuz I'm a nice guy, I will be giving away an old Remington EO knife IF....AND ONLY IF....WE HAVE 2OO ORDERS THIS YEAR!!!! Your first post will count as your drawing number. But I won't even consider doing the drawing until we have confirmed payments for 200 knives. Only someone who has ordered a knife will be eligible for the drawing knife. But don't let this distract from your discussion of the 20ll Knife. What want your thoughts, are you excited, will you prefer this one over previous years, or vice versa. We are really interested to know.

Just paid for one, thanks much for your efforts in wrangling folks for this years knife.

Paypal sent for two knives (my wife is going to murder me).

Thanks so much guys. I think I did it all right. If not, I apologize. Paypal confuses me sometimes.
 
Ok...let's talk about the knives. Even us folk allow Elliot and Gus to take leave from their computers and do important things like BMs and eat. They will sticky both threads. Now to the knives....They are going to be great. Each of Chris, Andy and Myself will inspect every one, and any flaws we see that don't cut muster will be sent back to GEC to fix. So you will be getting a superb fit, minimal defects and a keen edge. Can't beat that. Flood the gates with your orders my fine chaps....cuz a stupendous knife be in your grasps....argh meeee maity......
 
I'm in for 1 also and my wife's gonna kill me too, I'll have to get her somethin' nice.

Chris, I'll PM ya my info tomorrow and thanks to all you guys, Andy, Chris and Campbell looks like it'll be a great knife this year, (Ida went for the small pen for an alternative blade but the majority rules and I'm sure the cap lifter will get a work out anyway ;)

Your timing is amazing. The order thread went up exactly 15 minutes after I placed an order for a couple of Schatt and Morgan File and Wire knives, so I guess this will have to wait until payday. Fortunately, Thursday is payday.

Hi neeman -

Doubtful - GEC will have to tool up before they can make a proto. We will have to send a partial payment to GEC before they will begin (at least that is what I believe is the current agreement).

Here is a picture that Corey posted showing a knife that is very similar - this example has an incorrect shield, and there will be no bail on the forum knife, but it will give you an idea.

Keep in mind that Great Eastern is making arguably the finest quality traditional slip-joint knives being made in America.

The forum knife should be a real show-stopper, truly a traditional pattern with many quality touches.

I have rarely ever seen a member post that they were sorry they purchased one of the forum knives, but I have seen many posts of people wishing they HAD purchased one when they were available.

Do we need to add in the Paypal fees? If we do, how much to add? Not fair if you guys have to pick up the Paypal fees when you come up short.

I was not sure were you wanted me to send my personal info to so I have PM'd it to you. I hope that is ok.
If you need it to go elsewhere then please let me know and I will forward it on.

I have sent $220-00 with Paypal for two (2) Forum Knives at the International rate. I added a few Dollars on to the total to cover any postal increase or any other additional costs.

Let me say a BIG THANK YOU to you Chris and Campbell in making this happen this year. I am really excited about this one and to know that it is a new GEC pattern is really fantastic.:)
