Greetings all,

I know it's early, but I'm planning my for my 2012 knife shows already and this one comes up first for me next year - I'm hoping many of my fellow forumites will consider attending and make a great weekend even better.

This is, IMO, one of THE best shows going, particularly if you have an interest in forged blades. Don Hanson will be returning for a second year in a row, and in addition to the always strong lineup of both established and newer bladesmiths, this year will feature some notable first-time attendees: Russ Andrews, Bruce Bump, Shawn McIntyre and Raymond Richard.

I've also heard from John Cohea that he is planning to attend and I hope he does, 'cause he would be a great addition to the show.

Buddy Thomason, Jon Klein, Ryan Hays, Paul Long - I hope you dudes make it back. Peter Gill, Michael Starr, Jon Brand - and many others - this is YOUR kind of show. And for knifeshow newbies, this is a laid back show with a relaxed atmosphere that makes for a great place to start.

Well, I WAS going to try and make it. But, if YOU are gonna be there, I might reconsider. :D

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa; it'll be good to see ya again, Rog. :)

Wow Mr. Danbo. Your quote literally made me laugh my pants off. Seriously, I was putting them on and reading and now they are on the ground... :)

This is only about a 3 hour drive. It is just around the corner but it will seem like forever. I have resorvations made. And I should be having a knive deliverd.

Looks like I've got a 4 day weekend that week, so I'll plan on doing the drive. It should be interesting.

It's always a pleasure, Roger. Glad to see that you will be going and I'm sure that you first timers will enjoy it. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Gary

Roger I would not miss it, my favorite show for sure. I am up for a Saturday night dinner with the guys again but think I might be banned fom picking the restaurant.

Jon

I am sure looking foward to it. I plan on bringing three pieces with me and plan on having a good time.

The up coming show wil be a good one. There will be a few changes for the better to the Gala on Friday evening including clear start and stop times for the catagory judging, streamlined tally of of votes, some very nice door prizes for Gala attendees, introduction of new table holders, and more.

The word has gotten out about this show and we already are looking into adding a few tables as long as it dont crowd the existing ones. Planning is underway already. So if you are expecting to wait long and still purchase a table, well... I would'nt wait. Invite your friends who love knives.

This show is known for Bowies and lots of em. You'll see the Fisk's, the Crowells, the Williams, Jerry Lairson, and JR Cook. But there will be some hunting knives and a great showing of art knives from makers like Lee Ferguson and Richard Self, Folders by Tim Britton, Wes Davis, and Gary Crowder. Some of you have been there and know all about it, but be sure to invite you collectors so they have a chance to buy right off the table with no wait time and be entered into a drawing for custom knife.

If we get a chance there might be a scan posted of the show rack card listing some more specs. If you have any questions about the show, please ask and between myself and the regulars, we might can answer them.

I'll be at my usual table, and you be there, too.

The Arkansas Show is "family." You won't find a show where you'll be more welcome, and there's no more friendly atmosphere.

Not to mention the line-up of makers!

See you there,

John

I'm hoping (planning) to attend for the first time in 2012, can't wait :)
