2012 Blade show question

I want a nuclear meltdown. Bad. I don't know the intricasies of all of the acronyms (mind numbing aray). All I know is that I bought a boss jack direct. It has begun. Seriously, I have been trying to get one of these amazing large choppers for years. My 11 year old daughter currently has had to suffer the embarrassment of watching her dad baton wood with an rtak2 for the last couple of years. Its degrading. The bm that I want would ideally be satin. It would have the very straight lines on the spine. No ridges. Elegant. I wish I knew what this meant in hog speak. I am learning. I do know that it is the longest blade. If it cant be satin, it needs to be a model that garth could satinize in a year or so after I have brutalized it in the north ga mountains. I have driven lexi crazy over the last couple of weeks and am resolved to not trouble her anymore. She is the only reason that I know that there are two different variations, one easy to satinize and one not. She is outstanding. It will be a sad day if I cant fulfill this need next friday!!! I told my wife that, if I am successful, we will be by a camp fire....hammered. If I am not, we will be at home cursing fate....hammered! I really appreciate any help in this quest.

And another thing..... I am a brewmaster for one of the largest brew pubs in the southeast. I will be bringing a growler of the finest scottish ale that I have ever made for Busse and the crew. An....offfering, of sorts (read:bribe), in the hopes of being indoctrinated to the cult of the hog. I will be the one that gets there on tuesday night. I hope you guys will be enjoying the ale on friday night and I will be enjoying my new nuclear meltdown bm by a camp fire, a huge pile of processed wood and a KEG of the same ale lying at my side!!

I did not see any satin ones at the last blade but there were quite a few coated ones in the range of $430-$500. Since that show, there has been two knob creek shows and only 1 nmfbm, that satin one above and that cost $800 + tax direct(eta-it may of been $700 now that I think of it). They may or may not have any, if they do Ill make it a mission to help ya score one. Either way there will be tons of awesome blades and great people, you are in for loads of fun :thumbup:
 
Wow. That thing makes me cry. I am ok with a coated one but that is the exact blade!! I have to have it. Sure it will be great fun but acquiring this particular knife has become paramount. Thanks, deric. I appreciate you taking the time.

Good luck with it! Just make sure you're there when the doors to the exhibition hall open and you're good to go. Don't worry if there isn't anything you want out on the table straight up, more knives get put out over the course of the show. And, I'm sure if you talk to one of the awesome Busse staff about what you want, I'm sure something can be arranged ;)

And post pics when you land it!!

This thread is painful to read. I will be working in the ER while you guys are having fun. Of course, I will be taking in $ while you are putting out $, but still, I will have to get my vacation days set up better next year!

Ah well, it is Christmas in June and I hope everyone's stocking gets filled with the INFI they want!

Yup, knives sneak out on the table throughout the weekend.

And since Rob isn't going (unfortunately, we'll be thinking of you), you have a chance and grabing one on the table.
 
I think your chances are pretty good, If I get my grubby mits on one before you...I can be bribed with mircobrews :)

M67 and Dericdesmond are good allies.... vicious hogs...they just make me a proud uncle...:)
