• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

A description of what the 2012 forum knife is shaping up to be:

Pattern: Bareheaded Trapper
Size: Between 3-1/2" and 3-7/8"
Blade Types: Wharncliffe primary behind a Turkish Clip primary - nail nicks on the same side
Blade Steel: 1095
Tang Stamps: Must have Bladeforums stamp on one blade. Will ask for "2012" as well.
Bolster: Nickel, some sort of rattail/threading - will try to go for one big groove
Liners: Stainless Steel or nickel silver
Shield: Will discuss with the manufacturers to determine availability of different patterns, but it will be pinned
Handle Scales: Bone - jigging and color TBD

Please note that features may change slightly based on manufacturer's ability, part availability and attempts to keep the cost around $100.

Expect not to hear from us for a while as we hammer out details and prices with the manufacturers. Once everything is worked out, we will run it up the flagpole to Spark for him to work his magic and actually get this thing made. We will keep you informed as things develop.
