2012 HTM Forum Gunhammer: Blade steel -- *INPUT NEEDED*

First, I think we should NOT group 154cm and CPM-154 together. In my experience CPM-154 is noticeable better and IF that could be gotten I would choose that. What would the heat treat be on the Elmax? It seems that Elmax at 59-60 is decent but at higher RC levels it is a monster as Jankerson showed. I have no problem with CTS-XHP.

I dont know about the rest of you BUT I WOULD pay an extra $50 for S110V.

Looks like CTS-XHP has slowly pulled away from Elmax (with a huge drop-off from there to any of the other choices), so I'm going to call this one as well. The winner, with a plurality of 25 votes out of 64, is CTS-XHP.


Full results are as follows (total votes = 64):

CPM-S30V 5 7.81%

CPM-S35VN 3 4.69%

154CM (or, if possible, CPM-154 - the PM version of 154CM) 4 6.25%

Elmax 20 31.25%

CTS-XHP 25 39.06%

Any of these is fine/defer to the expertise of others 7 10.94%
