I'm really looking forward to some of these. I've been an on again/off again fan of CRKT for over 10 years, so I'm really happy to see them filling out their midrange with knives with great designs and decent materials.

I'm especially looking forward to the Swindle. A mid priced IKBS flipper framelock that doesn't look like an H.R. Giger painting? Yes, please. :D

I always wished, with all the Ripple/Eros variations they made, that they'd just do one simple, smooth-sided version. Maybe the Swindle will be that one now, though the cliff looks sort of goofy.

Digging the way that one looks. Had a Ripple and sold it. If flipped great...if I did not grip it too tight otherwise it would stop the blade. It also had a few spots on the knife that were pointy in-hand. Still have a CRKT Sampa. Flips great, but the design is a little funky.

I'm really interested in CRKT's collaboration with RMJ Tactical.

It does look odd, but it looks like it'll work well with my pants in any pocket. It might take a little more thought when stowing the knife in a pocket, but it looks like it'll be plenty functional.

Only experience will tell of course, but it looks decent, and I'll give it a shot.

Also, it looks like a decent alternative to installing two pocket clips for when I want a knife I can stow in either pocket. On my Cold Steel Spartan, for example, I installed both pocket clips because I often use it with either hand when the other hand is holding something I'm working on. It's nice to be able to easily stow it with whichever hand it's in.

The Swindle isn't a hard use folder like the Spartan, but I can still see the benefit in some situations. Also, I tend to stow my EDC knife in my left hand pocket even though I'm right handed, so an ambidextrous clip is always welcome.

As far as SHOT show goes, I think they won. The only company that came even close to putting out as many things I wanted seemed to be Spyderco and even they didn't come that close. I've always been leary of CRKT and it's good to see them step up like this.

Honestly, between this and Cold Steels foray into PM steel, I hope we'll soon have a Big Five instead of just a Big Three. Still a ways to go, though.

Glad to see them branching out as far as blade steel is concerned. I want a Sakimori, seeing as it's 01 tool steel, I just assumed it would be AUS-8 or something similar but was gladly proven wrong, and I like AUS-8. Also 12C27 is good stuff with the right heat treat.

I like it alot, but that pocket clip..I just don't see it working/I don't understand it.

I believe the catalog says $80 for the milled and $60 for smooth.

Street will probably be around $50 for milled and $35-40 for the smooth.

Take a look at Nutnfancy's CRKT Shot Show 2013 booth review. A CRKT representative demonstrates the Swindle's pocket clip at timestamp 7:45. It looks like it should work just fine.

I have stayed away from CRKT for a while now. They used to strike me as a company that was constantly downgrading their knives (changing their knives constantly to use cheaper materials, cheaper steels...moving their manufacturing from Taiwan to China, changing their steels from AUS-8, ATS-34, etc. to 8cr13, 5cr15, 14111, etc.) while maintaining the same price.

It kind of looks like they're stepping up their game this past couple of years, though, with new steels, new designers, new concepts being introduced across the board. Gonna have to try out some of these new designs, especially the Swindle and the new Ripple.

I share in everyone's general opinion of CRKT for a decade or so. You know the brands that we regularly talk about (re: Spyderco, BM, Kershaw/ZT, etc.) or are the most improved (re: Cold Steel, even Boker) and generally they're not included.

However, I think they sense this you have to admit that they've been trying to improve their game. And the probably the first thing to do is to get new, talented blood into the system to inject new life/designs (re: the McGinnis-designed Summa).

Lately I have had my eye on gentleman EDC's that very non-aggressive/tactical looking but high in function. The Swindle is freaking SPOT-ON. Slim, frame-lock, smooth opening, right-sized and thank the Lord Ken Onion decided not to put his signature design recurve on it!

Will definitely be buying this for 2013 for sure.

I too am quite interested in the Swindle. CRKT almost had me at the Ripple but something about just made me hesitate with purchasing one. However after seeing the Swindle, they have won me over. I will be picking one up soon.
