With January right around the corner, deer season is drawing to an end in many parts of the country. So, in order to consoildate some of the beautiful deer that have been harvested and posted in this sub-forum, I thought that we could do a picture thread. Especially, you lucky dogs from up north and out west. Does, bucks, bulls, whatever, post em up!

My simple offerings. First, an old buck from November. He provided me with 40 lbs of jerky from the hams, loins, and back strap plus 75 lbs of burger from everything else. I also tagged out on does and glassed the 3x3 below last week. I'm going to let him grow a little bit.

I'll tell you what, that was some of the hardest hunting I ever did! Really, the most thinking and strategizing I ever dealt with. After having a nice 18"+ goat spook at 800 yards and two other seemingly outrun full body length kentucky windage we really had to up our game. Took my dad 6 years to get drawn for it as non resident too.

This years buck, pretty tiny rack but put 142 lbs of meat in the freezer. Eating some of the deer sausage and scotch right now actually:very_drunk: Sorry about the crappy pics, it was very foggy that night and this was the only one that sort of turned out.

Here is #2 for the year unless one gets in the way of my longbow in the next 2 weeks.

Killed here with my Granddaddy's 30-30 he gave me when I was 14. I dressed her with Dad's Queen he bought when he started deer hunting in 1958, he gave it to me the day before I got her.

The old stuff still works!

Here is what we put in the freezer this year. My daughter got a nice Mule deer buck, my wife a huge bull moose and a got a white tail on the last day of hunting season.

I'm actually very lucky to have a wife and daughter that enjoy hunting with me. I know many guys whose family not interested in hunting.
Never scored the moose yet but my WT grossed 174-6/8" and netted 171". The mule deer is mid 170's

Well, you have yourself a net Booner whitetail - nicely done. Agree on the family participation. My wife hunts, as well, and it's a blessing. She said she didn't want it be left behind, as my boys and I go hunting. I think it's great.

Awesome! That's a great season and some outstanding family time. Congrats my friend.

Well I've been fortunate enough to shoot some great trophy whitetails over the years but this one, although not huge was my first drop tine, so another exciting hunting season. Got a pretty good size doe as well..
