Just ran across a 651 Pigsticker with a 2013 date stamp and all black handle. Supposed to be part of another limited, overseas order. First I've seen or heard of it. Anyone else have any info?

I should add that I "ran across" one online and not in person. The new BCCI newsletter should have a special projects list for last year. Maybe that will shed some light?

The original USA Pigstickers were a special project, I remember when they were made available for purchase. Was sometime back. I didn't get one and always wished I had. Don't remember anymore details. Bet if you do search you can come back and tell us about them, I do remember there were threads about them..Have no idea what a 2013 would be, but would look at it a little squint eyed at first.......300

Original did not have a black handle and I doubt they would go back to the original black NightHawk handle.

Fun to tease 300Bucks.

My PigSticker

You can find at least two listings for this new pigsticker on the big auction site. Looks just like the first run other than the all black Nighthawk handle and of course the date stamp on the blade.

I betcha that Jacob will get em before ye. Betcha. Oh yea. Proximity has its advantages. I'm moving to Post Falls so make a path! :)

I have been thinking on starting a new thread regarding these. I noticed the older pigstickers blades were stamped while these new versions are printed on the blade and not stamped into them. I have been thinking on trying to purchase one but have been a bit sceptical. Can anyone enlighten me if these are actually made by Buck. Seems these could of sellers have the corner on the market and keep relisting more as they sell. Just seems a bit fishy to me.

I've scanned the offered inventory of this seller and all cutlery looks authentic to my sore eyes.

Joe Houser is a follower of this seller.

I've contacted Buck, email and phone, and I'm awaiting a reply. I'll post if I find anything out about the newest pork poker.

Ever since I ran across this "new one" earlier today I've been telling myself that it's just like the 651 I already have except for the color of the handle but I must not be buying it because I still want one of these new ones.

Hey Guys,

The black version is the real deal. I know because I am the project manager for this particular knife.
There were only 250 - 275 made (extra for fall out) We had not made the pig sticker for a couple years so all the tooling from the previous runs was deemed unusable and dismantled.
That is why the stamp has been laser etched instead of the normal hard stamped. Also some of the knives that are on the auction sites will have a non standard sheath as shown by Its Too Early and Oregon. That is actually the Thug sheath without the Hoods Woods logo. 250 were shipped to Australia, there are most likely only a handful floating around in the states. If you guys have any more questions let me know...

Thank you kindly heng em for settling that debate.

A quote, "What would you guys think of BRONZE bolsters, mastodon ivory or buffalo, and a mimed S35VN drop point blade with a stone washed finish?" You are all right. Keep up the good work. I need a couple of those 651s BTW. :)

Yes, Thank you heng em very much. That clears it up for me. Gunna have to get me one now

What I want to know is how do rare knives end up with eBay resellers in Florida and New Jersey before us common folk even know about them.

I have wondered that for a long time myself. You would think they would make some available to BCCI members.

If you look at my picture and measure the knife blade v handle, the one for sale is not the correct size. So the handle color is wrong, the sheath is wrong and the dimensions of the knife are wrong. I include another picture of my PigSticker

I am pretty sure the earlier batch was special order from Down-Under also. The overruns were not too expensive. I think ole PlumberD was leading the charge on those. I thought about it as the whirlwind of buying hit the forum but decided I could survive with my 119 and a Tomahawk and watch you guys try to stick pigs. 300
