2013 talwar xl

they are similar knives, but one of the main differences is that the espada has partial steel liners while the talwar does not, so the talwar xl is noticeably lighter.

here is a pic i found online of the back of the knife where you can see the liners

Just got my xl talwar today, It's awesome. Any reservations you guys have about it...ignore them. This thing is a beast. It's not as similar to the espada when seeing it in person. It's blade might not be as visually striking at first glance to the espada but it has more blade presence . The handle is a combination between the espada and rajah 1.It's actually configured to hold it near the very back like the rajah 2.Very intimidating looking wide blade.

Thank you for choosing Cold Steel Poleaxe. I'm glad that you like your new knife.
I've been carrying the XL Talwar for a little while now and it's really impressed me. The Talwar and the Hold Out I have both become high on my list of favorite knives for sheer performance packed into a lightweight and surprisingly easy carry option.
In truth, you forget you are even in your pocket. My cell phone weighs more than my Talwar :)

Thanks again!

I like the looks of the Talwar XL. I've got the big original Espada XL, a G10 Large Espada, & the RajahII. Seeing that the Talwar has no liners, it makes me question the durability of it just a bit.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. The Lawman, Recon1, and AK-47 are linerless, and have proven to be extremely durable. The beefy G10 and Tri-Ad lock are a formidable duo.

This. Liners are simply not necessary with thick G10, and only serve to add weight without additional strength.
