2015 Ford F 150

If you want to wait until January 2015, Nissan is going to release a whole new updated version of the Titan but this time with a Cummins diesel engine!

Sorry but the Big 3 just don't cut it these days when compared to the Japanese. I used to have a Tacoma with over 275k and it never needed anything replaced other than oil and an air filter once a year. I sold it to my brother in law and to this day he still drives it. It probably has over 350k miles now. On the other hand I rarely hear of a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge going past 150k without needing some type of work.

Sorry, but the sad truth is that the Japs build better vehicles these days.

I bought a 2014 trd taco, just hit a deer friday, and I'm honestly waiting for the cummins titan. There's a reason Tacoma's have such a high resale value.

I'm honestly waiting for the cummins titan.

I'm a huge Nissan fan as well. My 2013 GTR is incredible, and I have been thinking of buying the new upcoming Titan just for fun. Cummins makes my favorite diesel engines and I have always liked the style of the Nissan Titan, win win situation.

GTR is pretty sweet, I'm jelly. The new Titan is supposed to have a lifted option. My experience with Nissans have been great, both the Altima and Maxima, I would expect nothing less of the Titan.

I have a 2011 F150 4X4 4door Lariat with the 3.5 Ecoboost that i bought new and I'm totally sold on the motor. Great power and torque, tows my 7000lb trailer effortlessly. I can only compare it my brothers 09 Chevy 1500 4X4 with the 5.3 and there is simply no comparison in power and torque.

Awesome, that is the kind of thing I am looking to get. How many miles on it so far? The 1995 Silverado Z71 4X4 Extended cab my brother had back in the day was a beast, he put 235K miles on that motor in about 13/14 years, it was not really a good hauler truck though.

^^^^another vote for the ram. I had a 1995 dodge ram that had just over 200,000 miles on it. Yes it rattled and flunked a little bit but it still had the original engine and transmission it when

Buddy in high school had a 1996 F150 with 600,000. Original engine and trans. :P

Loved my F150. 2000 F150, Lariat, 4x4 extended cab, Triton V8.

Crashed into telephone poll after avoiding a head on collision. :(

Rev, 40,000 so far and no issues. Actually the large back seat sold me originally, after 3 years the drive train has made me a believer. I'm totally sold on the package as a whole but the motor is simply awesome.
Message me for any particulars.

Thanks Rick. I appreciate your response.

I have a 1994 F150 and everything works on it like it came from the factory. No rust of any kind, but I do get it rust proofed each fall. It only has 160 K on it, but then I am retired, but it has to do the long trip for supplies each week, it sits outside and has never been pampered or garaged. I do all my service points and proper maintenance, the paint is original and has not faded. I would definitely buy another.

Ima in your driveway popin' da locks and gone! Bye bye!

Rev if you want a roomy truck for the family and good mileage I'd look at the f250 instead of the 150. The cabs are larger and the diesel gets better mileage and last great. I've got a f350 2002 still going strong, rides good, drives good and pulls a huge trailer with ease. Its not my daily driver anymore toyota fj is but it still gets a lot of hard work and hauled my family all over the country for years.

Dave, thanks for the suggestion. Last night was browsing an online vehicle site to get some ball park numbers on a Nissan Frontier (smaller pickup, but with 4 doors), Ford F150, and some older Yukons 2008 or so. The F-250 kept showing up as every other 4th or 5th vehicle. :)

ARE YOU KIDING ME.a BUDDY OF MINE BOUGHT A TACO TuRD AND THE FRAME SPLIT IN LESS THAN A YEAR.My 2000 Dodge had over 300k when I traded it for a 03 and she now has 170k and only had to replace a water pump, plus she survived hitting a moose at 60 mph.....

I test drove just about every truck after selling my 2012 Tacoma (4 Dr 4x4 TRD) and ended up buying a used 5.9 Cummins ram 2500. I liked the ecoboost but questioned the durability of the interior and hated the engine note, the newer rams felt nice but like they wouldn't hold up.. New gm\chevy felt under powered unless you find a 6.2 which was rare. If I had to do it again I'd wait for the next f250. Otherwise I love my 5.9. Fwiw.

Again my old Tacoma has never needed one thing replaced aside from oil and air filters. And today it is still driving with over 350k on the odometer. Let's see if your truck can at least make it to 225k without needing an overhaul. Look at the video I posted above. No Ford, Dodge, or Chevy would ever survive the abuse they put that Toyota through.

The Tacoma is inarguably the best and most respected mid-sized pick up truck in the world. That title comes with a reason.

After working in a motor machine shop for a few years..I love these kinds of speculative comments.
I had an uncle with 750k on a dodge truck (I'm certainly no fan of Dodge- Pretty ugly to me) with nothing more than required care that all vehicles need..Does that mean it's the "best"? No..it means that all the pieces just fit and the proper care was taken.
With all due respect, you have no idea what the big three can ever survive without the testing. Making empirical statements can actually damage your argument more than help it.

Does this mean I am against Toyota, Nissan or any other foreign vehicles? No, absolutely not.. They spurn competition.. Competition is a good thing for the consumer. In a global marketplace, these lines are going to get more and more blurred in the future.

ALL of the manufacturers are getting more and more miles out of their vehicles every year without issue..Including the big three believe it or not.

By the way; I am here to tell you that EVERY manufacturer has lemons...at least until Skynet takes over and the human element is removed from the manufacturing process ;)

:D

Thanx but I really don't need a vidio I see the how they perform in the great Maine woods:barf:

Apples to oranges. Also the Tacoma is not in all cases the same as the Hilux, the US built ones are built to ride better (the stock standard hilux has frame flex factored in to the suspension, something that the US market would not tolerate) and toughness comes at a cost. I've been in a few hiluxes, and not one could be considered a "gentle" ride besides, comparing an F350 to a tacoma is like comparing a mustang to a civic. Different strokes.
Anyway, I think moving to aluminum is a good move. It seems to be working for the USPS lot of those trucks on the road, and they do a lot of miles. Repairs will tougher while the auto-body shops get used to it, but it will get there. Engine-wise, the rest of the world is moving to lower displacement vehicles, and they work just fine. Sure you have to plan a bit more, and can't just plant your foot and go, but at the end of the day, is your 0-60 time that important when you are hauling cargo? I see plenty of Izuzu and Fuso trucks around here, all hauling more than an F350 can with half the displacement, twice the comfort, and durability. Why compromise? I think the north american car market has a lot to learn and "market forces" are holding the big three back.
