2015 Forum Knife Photos

Exceptional wood on that one, Bozack! Send it to me, and I will send you one of mine, when they get here. I ordered 5 and planned to use one of them!

Thanks for the offer, Charlie. I did reach out to Barry and his explanation was very good. He put in a perspective I could understand and I will keep the knife. He said the knife was under sharpened and needs to be sharpened more to remove a bit more metal from the edge. After seeing pictures of other knives, I believe he is right. It won't be a big deal. I am not sure I will use the knife and just may keep it as an ode to a great knife company.

Nugun55, that is just the reflection in the shield.

I was looking at this thread, and decided to click the tracking link - mine was delivered earlier than expected, and is sitting in my mailbox. I'll grab it on my way to work.

I may have been a bit curt in my first response but didn't mean to be. Something else that might help is to ease the blade down when closing. Here is a thread that ran a short while ago about this very thing - dings in blades when closing and various ways to prevent the dings.

Charlie's response looks spot on now that I look at your knife, and the pic of mine just below. Mine has MUCH more distance from the kick to edge. If the tip of the main blade is near the liner edge, or just slightly under...that's where mine sits. I'm sure a good sharpening will keep it from happening again. Just look at it this way, if you sharpen often, your knife has a lot more life in it than mine. ;)

And it's got some great color in it. I think that is what I like most about natural covers, every one is unique. You just don't get that with most synthetic material. This is going to be great! Keep the pics coming.

Ed,I didn't think you were curt. I do thank you for your advice. I think a good sharpening to get the ding out and easing the blade closed will do the trick.

Absolutely beautiful knives both classy and elegant. I missed out and it's my fault but so happy for all that did congratulations.

Beautiful knife! The slender frame and ample blade makes it a fantastic utility. Thanks to all who made it possible (too many to list). Enjoy a few photos...

I always wondered about using a deremel cut off wheel to create a small relief into the back spring to allow clearance ?

Can't do much with that if there's going to be enough material around the pin. Remember, it's a spring, and especially if you have both blades partially open you're stressing it.

Sounds like a cure worse than the disease.

I'm glad you didn't take it that way. I've been known to be "blunt spoken" now and then. Again, you've got a beauty.

That's a great idea. Keep it thin and minimal and it should not weaken the spring as its right in the middle over the center pin. I'm going to try that on a couple of my other knives with similar issue.

That's what I thought, since the slight cut would be running longitudinally and not across the spring, it shouldn't cause much harm, of course I wouldn't go very deep but a little at a time.
I've taken to not let my blades fall shut on their own, even with a kick, just seems better to do so.

I don't have any right now that evidence this behavior or I'd give it a try, have to get a disk with a large enough diameter of course to reach down into the frame :) but I'll take a search for one, wouldn't hurt to have that on hand for other things too!

A couple more photos of my knife. The color is true on these and you can see the workmanship is excellent.

I my mind this is one of the most pocket friendly knives I've seen in a long time, and I wish CSC would be around longer to offer this with bolsters and jigged scales.

My knife came in today's mail - here it is. The fit and finish are excellent, and it has the best opening and closing snap on any new knife I have bought in a couple of years. This is a very light pocketknife - I'm sure you won't even know it's there. Great way to commemorate both the fine folks who are members of The Blade Traditional Forum and Canal Street Cutlery Companies short life in the business. OH

I love this process of the Forum knife distribution!!
It's like watching your garden sprout in the spring! Thanks for posting your pictures everyone! These will indeed be rare knives . . . . .mixed emotions here . . . . .

Another happy 2015 forum knife owner. This is a well made knife. A great swan song from CSC. Again, too bad they are closing. Here's what mine looks like with a couple tang close-ups.
