2015 Paramilitary 2

Sort of.. Well just down right of topic but do Paramilitary 2's have good lock up? I'm a maniac with the slightest blade play and I was going to purchase a couple rare colors like earth brown and foliage green. They aren't cheap so thought I'd ask you all first..

From my experience, I'd have to say the Compression Lock is my favorite overall lock. Very solid, secure and easy to operate.

Although my first choice would be either a frame lock or the BM AXIS lock, the compression lock is also a favorite. It locks up securely enough and the ergonomics are really good. Easy to close with one hand and your fingers are never in the path of the blade.

Don't hesitate to buy a PM2. They're freaking' great knives, and IMO everyone that likes knives should own at least one PM2.

Up to you, but personally I LOVE Spydercos s30v. One of my all time favorite steels. Wonderful balance between edge retention and ease of sharpening. Purely from a steel standpoint I prefer it to a lot of the sprint run steels.
This right here. I know some grow tired of S30V or get caught up in the latest and greatest alphabet soup steels (variety is a wonderful thing) but Spyderco's S30V is excellent and I love it for the same reasons you listed.

Yes, S30V is a nice, affordable steel. I have very little complaint with it.

The compression lock has become my favorite lock for a combination of ease of use and strength. Any minor side to side blade play can be adjusted away with the pivot screw. I ve never had back and forth blade play. The s30v steel makes this a fine pocket knife.

I got my Para today. I really like how to fits in my hand. They compression lock is going to take a little while to get used to. I will put it to the test tomorrow.

Every one needs a Para2!! Like mine.. ALOT!!!! John:thumbup:

I think people forget S30V is considered an upgraded premium steel for most knives that are in the same price range as Spyderco. On top of that Spydercos heat treat is top notch so their S30V is nothing to stick your nose up at. That said, I agree variety is the spice of life and I am infinity appreciative for Spyderco bringing us some super steels in addition to their already excellent S30V.

Totally true. We are spoiled by Spyderco's many adventures with exotic steels in sprints and regular production knives, but they really have S30V dialed in and it performs very well as Spyderco serves it up.
