Well tomorrow morning is the opening day of deer season here in southern Virginia. My knives are sharp, rifles zeroed in, stands and blinds are ready and the rut is wide open. It looks to be a promising season here in SoVa.

Please share photos off your hunting gear with infi (or kin), the game you take and memories you create this season.

'Twas the day before hunting season........

Nemisis, are you able to use one of those suppressed semi autos to deer hunt in Va.?

Are we hunting dangerous game by chance. :D

That's great. I'm hoping PA will soon let us hunt with semi auto's. Good luck this year.

:-( ---- one day, someday ---- I'd love someone on these forums to properly mentor/teach me everything I need to know about hunting, skinning, and preserving game. . .

Sadly, we only have 4 more weeks to acquire AR type platforms here in California (they'll be banned after the cutoff date). I'm taking a long hard look at the S&W M&P 10 and the POF P308. The POF P308 seems to be pretty much on par with Busse/Bussekin products -- in terms of durability and functional heft.

Good luck on the decision and purchase Rob, I don't think either will disappoint. I hope you are able to secure one prior to the deadline. I'm sure if you follow along you will pick up some tips here, I know we have some avid hunters here.

I built an AR-10 using a 2a Arms receiver set. I highly recommend it. Very tough and lightweight. The whole rifle with scope weighs 8.1 lb with an 18" fluted barrel.

Nemsis: Very nice set ups!!! I like it alot!!!

How do you like your RMJ? Mine is shipping this week. I got the shrike and I cant wait to give it some love. I am still in search of an HG55 though :/

I can't wait to get some cans to go with all of my toys!!! Keep the pics coming!

I recently picked up a P308, they seem to be a good bang for your buck (pun intended;)) in terms of quality and goodies it has. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get to the range yet, I'm waiting on a scope on back order but I wanted to get it before the election. Deer season is over where I live, but I plan to use mine next year.

Sitting in a stand waitin on a nasty ole Boar to walk by. Just the RMD and rifle to keep me company.

Dang. Had to go as far as downloading their app to get a darn picture uploaded.

Anyways, here's my new favorite blade for carving up critters. Love how well the handle color matches the greens and browns of the birds.
