Well the votes are in, the people have chosen their finalists. It was a very close race to the top knives, and every vote mattered! We ended up with 6 finalists.

In no particular order your finalists are:

Will Morrison

The DesRosiers because stag is rare for Adam - and that piece is exquisite - love the juncture of the integral bolster and the handle.

As with the bowie vote, all are very deserving, but I had to give the slight edge to young Mr. Seward and this particular folly. ;)

Sendero is an all time classic and this is a spectacular example. Fisk gets my vote. But these are all winners here.

I found it very hard to pick a winner. I would love to own all of these knives.

In the end I voted for Ben Seward's knife. I love the lines, the checkered handle, and the integral components. It all came together very well.

Indeed, hard to pick. Had to go with my boy Ben Seward. His handles could become the gold standard.

Congratulations to all the finalists. Beautiful work all around. I can certainly appreciate complexity and creativity but for me it always comes down to lines, materials, fit and finish. I chose Will's knife because his stuff is always clean and correct with tasteful choice of materials. With Will, form follows function without pretense. All the finalists and in fact all the nominees have my respect.

I voted for Lin. The reason is for me personal I prefer a knife with a guard. I have my hands in too many body cavities of all sizes and a guard is just safer, for me. Stag has a good texture for using.

There are some good knives and fortunately they are all good ones, it just comes down to personal choice.

I voted for Lin's hunter because it has a bit of a dropped point, a guard,
and a handle shape that lends itself well to use in multiple directions....

Lets see, Jerry Fisk and Russ Andrews pick Lin Rhea's hunter... Great choice!

There is a thing about Lin Rhea's knife... the lines and transitions of the handle, guard, ricasso-plunge cut... that is just beautiful.

The one with the most pleasing proportions, lines and overall profile to my eyes would have to be Will's hunter. The materials aren't too shabby either ;)
Hah! Will got my vote for best Bowie as well... I promise it wasn't planned this way, it just happened!

All 5 hunters all extremely well made and are very beautiful. I do agree it really comes down to personal preference.

Congrats to all the finalists! :)

Well it seems like I have a secure hold on the very bottom of this list. :D :)

I'm extremely happy to even be in the finals with these excellent knives and makers.

These knives are all exceptional and I'd be thrilled to own any one of them. I cast my vote for Adam's knife. I held this knife in hand and I had an extreme urge to own it and use it and if I had enough cash in my pocket at the time, I would have. Every thing is just right on this knife and I imagined walking around in the woods with it on my belt and all the hunting/utility tasks it could be used for. It is so near perfection in every detail, understated in it's elegance and details and yet not simple at all to pull off everything that Adam has going for this.

Congrats to everyone that had their work displayed in this thread.

Once again, I am deeply humbled and honored to be included in this event. As I've said before, win or lose, this is fantastic company to be in. I've studied each of these knives, and the comments about them. To me, it is precious to know what makes a great knife, and why people want them that way. Personally, I would be proud to own any of these, and could go to the field with great confidence that each would perform perfectly. One thing I find very interesting is that this years choices include three with guards and three without, each with valid reasons for that preference. I have to say that my favorite of the bunch is Ben's. It is at once functionally perfect, and yet it's flow, detail, and construction make me desire it for its sheer beauty as well.

Big thanks to the guys who organize and moderate these events. Always a highlight of my year.

Happy new year to all!

Adam.
