The Pioneer with scissors is legit, they will be coming out sometime in 2016, my guess would be within the first few months they should start to show up.

Any idea when the 2016 Victorinox catalog will be online? Not just for the new models, but also to see which SAKs have been discontinued.

Wow, that is so awesome!
I have heard "never going to happen" and "not possible" so many times and it never made sense -I mean, there are driverless cars; scissors on a knife seems doable. ;)

I like the awl on the Pioneer, but I would use full sized scissors much more. I would be happy with that configuration.

If they are going to produce scissors for the Alox SAKs there no reason why they can't add them to the Farmer.
A Farmer plus scissors would be an awesome Alox almost-Huntsman! I'd buy three for sure!

Bring back the Scientist! and the Yeoman, for that matter (combo can/bottle opener, scissors, in-line phillips, and magnifying lens)

I've got an old sak, not sure which model, with a locking blade. Same mechanism as the new Evolutions, with the weird push-button almost. I hope they get rid of the weird curvy evo scales and return to the classic SAK scales.

AFAIK, scissors take one full layer, so the Pioneer X will still have the awl (most likely).
They can't fit the scissors together with the blade in one layer.

If I would build a custom SAK, Pioneer X would be it :D

I'd like to see an updated Swisstool with the locks of the Swisstool Spirit.

I don't know how they differ but the Spirit hardly has any play in the tools.

Last time I was on the Vic site, the Explorer plus wasn't on there. Shame if it is discontinued as I really like mine. That pen that comes with it is no fun to write with, but when I needed something to write with and nothing else was around, I have been real glad it's there for me. I hope more people buy SAK's with the ink pen as I'd hate to see that discontinued especially if it happened about the time the present pen runs out of ink.

You can get plus scales from Swissbianco readily enough. So if you wanted to you can plus out anything. Really handy if you want to get an older, glass magnifier explorer to put a pen onto. I didn't go that route with my explorer, just regular ruby scales, but they have the pin hole, so I get needle, tweezers and magnifier, a great sliver remover combo.

Their 2016 general catalog has not been published, but the 2016 Corporate Markets Gift Catalog is here:

There is nothing new, but if you are curious about the cost of SAK advertising knives, check pp. 134–149.
