I just got home from the NYCKS

As usual Steve D'Lack did an incredible job and this years turn out was 20 % up from last year

I drove in to man the table with my good friend Matt Diskin of DISKiN USA

Matt had a great show where all of the Wheel Variants quickly went out the door

Matt flew in to NEW York right from the Paris Knife Show

I brought with me a very special Katana that Jim Cooper was kind enough to photograph. There will be an upcoming video on this piece that I have been waiting to do till I had some quality images from Coop

I also had the Mirabile Battle Tanto/Ko Wakizashi on display and it was handled by a ton of people to rave reviews

Comments like I can not believe how light it is and WOW what a weapon ruled the day

I was amazed at how many people new the piece and therefore were exposed to it by this forum and the cutting videos

My carry piece for the show was a Carbon Kolton from my friend Claude Bouchonville and my old faithful DISKIN Fire

The show had excellent traffic and the turnout was even better than last year so congrats and thanks to Steve DeLac who is a show promoter extraordinaire

Like I always say .....It's the people in the Custom Knife world that make this such a wonderful thing and this video is a mix of brief video clips and a picture slide show of the great folks that make this show the success that it is

Thank you all for stopping by and special thanks to Matt Diskin for giving me a stage to do my thing on :)

Superb reportage with quality images ,The monster of Jason Knight makes envy ...

This is one of the first shows I attended, one I always looked forward to. I haven't been in over 10 years, due to my relocating! I'm glad to see how it's grown, Steve is a great promoter. Thanks for the review!

Joe, your efforts are greatly appreciated by so many. Thanks for doing what you do!

Thank you Lorien I really appreciate it

I concentrated on the people ..... for me that's a huge part of it

Over the years working the show it's become sort of a traveling circus so to speak

You look forward to the time spent seeing people and renewing friendships

Your name came up

I'll be calling you this week with details :)

Thank you all for the comments

Hope to see you all someday at a show

This show reminded me of 20 + years ago

That was the last time I walked around any city with a Katana on my back :)

Back than the show was in Manhattan and I went in to the show tha day to pick up a Katana from my dear friend Phill Hartsfield

I can remember walking around the city with the Katana on my back in a sword bag ......... those were the days :)

Glad you guys had a great time buddy......[emoji106]

Really sad we couldn't make this show. Real life just gets in the way sometimes.

Glad to see everyone had a good show.

Glad to hear it was a successful show for you both and apparently others. I couldn't make this one, maybe next time.

^^ Badass if you ask me.

I hope we don't have to wait too long to see the special sword with the ringed scabbard. :]

Thank you for the awesome video!! I hope to someday to make it to that show!

I was wondering were you where ?

Wife starting a new detail at work, kid starting a new pre-school etc etc. I considered taking a train by myself but it didn't pan out.

Wish I would have known Jason was gonna be there, I could have had some fun needling him.

The new Diskin flipper looks awesome.

Thanks Joe, that was the first big show I had gone to back in the early 90s, it's been awhile since I've been back, maybe next year.

As soon as I get the pics from Coop I will try and make sometime to do a video and than a post

It's a very interesting piece for sure

Here is a glimpse of the sword being looked at by Tony Marfionia

You can get a glimpse of the steel in this pic of Pohan Leu and his wife holding it

Whoa, thanks for the sneak peek. Looking forward to hearing about the sword in detail. :)

Thanks for posting about the show!
