2017 Blade Show

I have never been to Blade but it is on my list! That Ebony is stunning, I would have picked up one of those Mnandi for certain:thumbsup:

In all seriousness, I hear Lionsteel makes great stuff so congrats to them. I have wanted to give them a shot one day.

I used to have a TRE g10 or something like that, the quality was alright but not a match for CRK in my opinion, most of the CRK products are much simpler in design than Lionsteel but they are usually made perfectly, my lionsteel had a couple of rough edges

I had the same knife. No where near CRK quality. I could flex the frame of mine and the flipping action was horrible.

I'm sure that there is a certain amount of politics here with the judges.

They probably can't have CRK winning the award every year straight.

I went all day Saturday.
First stop was the CR booth... I planned on getting a small Sebenza that day.
I checked out the inlays, they looked great but felt small in my hand.
Then, I checked out the large 21... looked at others, then again came back to the 21.
The knife felt SO RIGHT.. so I bought it right there. I was told that was the last large 21 they had that day,
and I'm so glad that I didn't leave to "think it over" otherwise I would have lost it.
I'd been thinking of getting the 21 for a long time, and wanted one, but as the Bladeshow approached, I'd though to look into the smalls instead... I'm so glad I got the large 21 as I originally wanted. I was hardly at the show 10 minutes before I bought the knife!
It's such an awesome knife, I'm dying to really use it.
This was my 5th year in a row at the show, I have such a great time.. it always feels like Christmas.

I hope they have an Mnandi left when I get there in the morning just so I can fondle it. I've never handled one and am curious.

where you able to handle one? what did you think?

EDIT: Never mind - I saw your post in the exchange

Ya - it was an amazingly gorgeous knife but for whatever reason I just prefer the other CRK offerings vs this gentleman's knife. It's a beauty for sure though. I had to give it a shot. Since I got an exchange infraction for two thread in a day I have to wait 2 weeks to re-post. Perhaps it will grow on be between now and then. I'll fondle it a bit more in the meantime.

That reminds me of the time Charles Barkley got the MVP.

I've been disappointed with just about every Lionsteel folder I've tried, including multiple versions of the TRE, HESTs, and an SR1.
Super tight actions, super weak detents on flippers (come on, now!), and ridiculously hard to disassemble for maintenance.

I guess maybe I'll stick with CRKs. Manufacturing quality is the primary reason I buy them over other brands.

How in the heck did Lionsteel win for manufacturing quality?! They've had so many manufacturing and knife execution problems over the years...I know this is the CRK subforum and yes I think CRK should have won, but I'm not so much upset CRK didn't win but more so that Lionsteel did.
