Maybe I missed conversations on this knife, but saw it on the BCCI Facebook page. I will not miss out on this one. Beautiful! Will likely also be my first damascus blade.

I didn't try it. I'm not pulling the trigger just yet but will get er done before the deadline.

Go to the newsletter and order pre-order it...I guess they engrave your member # on it?
that's my understanding. I guess if you buy more than one, the serial #will end in a, b, c letter based on how many get ordered under your bcci #.

JMHO, I would like to see BCCI offer the option, serialized/non-serialized, I think they would sell more knives. Preston

I'm guessing that, that both personalizes them, and also keeps them from being purchased and sold to non BCCI members. I don't know if this still happens, but when I joined with lifetime membership, it included a knife. I got a 531 with someone else's number on it.

I asked if the BCCI annual knives had to be serialized on the BCCI forums and the response I received is that it is a long standing tradition that annual club knives are serialized.

Did you tell John about it?

You mean the wrong number? No. I figgered if they're willing to give me a $130 knife for a $100 membership, I've got no reason to complain. I'm guessing it was an order that never got paid for and sent and that's how they can afford to give a knife away with life membership.

OK, I thought maybe you weren't happy with it...

I think that serializing the annual "Members Only" knives should be done to hopefully hinder them from being bought strictly for resale.
Hence the name "Members Only Knife"
The BCCI still has plenty of other exclusive knives that are not serialized and can be bought and sold.

You make a good point. I'm in favor of that if it's the reason. It probably is....

I am just interested how the serial number will show on the damascus. It can’t be as big and/or bold as the Buck logo, can it?
