I've got it!!! Mark side gets Elk, pile side gets Ironwood. If you are feeling like using a wood handled knife for the day, flip it over in your pocket before pulling it out. Other days, make sure the elk side is facing you when you use it. And, it would be a hit at parties. Imagine all the magic tricks you could pull off!

I was thinking smooth and polished. It never crossed my mind that you wouldn't polish smooth elk. Now that I think about it, splitting the poll into three choices would be a clever way to help knobby elk win as it would split the smooth elk voters into two camps and dilute their votes ...

I think the line should be drawn with this poll.

By the time we poll down through all of the minutia, we might thin this down below the minimum SFO quantity. Bumpy, smooth polished, or something in the middle? Then we could do shade from light to dark.

Besides... what’s the difference between smooth polished elk and any other bone?

I think posting photos and swapping disappointments for happiness is a great idea!
