Did you mean burlap micarta? There hasn't been any mention of burlap acrylic.
cbr1000 I know what pictures you refer to but he referred to it as Burlap Micarta I will agree that it has an appearance in those photos of something under some type of resin or coating. It could be a matter of high polish and fancy photography but I am thought it had a unique look while some might say it has a look more on the cheap side it isn't a look I have really seen before on a knife. This doesn't mean I want it but it doesn't mean I won't take it should people choose it.
By about 3 to 1, really.Buck? Really?
Is your 303 mad at you because you put the shield back on it upside down in protest?Bitten by my 303. The tip of the clip blade sank into the fleshy part of the palm of my hand, about a good 3/8th of an inch while sharpenin it last night. So is micarta a laminate like fibreglass?
Pretty much.
The original was sheets of mica encased in phenolic resin. (trying to invent an electrical insulator...and succeeded.)
Nowadays Micarta can be paper or fabric and the resin can be any of a large number of resins.
Fiberglass is specifically glass fabric. Can be any of several resins.
G10 is glass fabric in epoxy resin
