2021 discontinued models

Thanks for the heads-up. Lots of classics on there.

Wish I could justify another 943 and 810 as backups~be sad to see those go.

The Crooked River with wood scales isn't listed, so that's probably staying.

I'm not sure that it is just the bolded models, since some models that have already been discontinued (mostly in the hunt line) are not in bold.

Either way, that's a lot of discontinued knives, so hopefully they have some cool stuff coming in 2021. I'm just glad the Vector family didn't get cut.

Wow, that’s quite a list. I guess I can stop hoping for a 943-1 now.

Benchmade needs to mark “Last Production Run xxx of 500” on the 943s ... they’ll be more collectible ;)

I always wonder what happened to all the 710’s out in the wild . It’s almost as if they’ve vanished into thin air

Same place as all the Buck 110s ... guys that buy 1 knife every 10 years and don’t post their EDC on forums are beating on them like they were designed for ;)

You rarely see them for sale on the secondary market. I’m sure they made a boat load of 710s before they became extinct.

What with all the discontinued models, I wonder if maybe that's the direction for a knife company, like Benchmade, to follow. If anything this pandemic has demonstrated, it's that people are willing to buy online. Why have a large inventory and multiple examples of models, some of which probably are slow sellers?

It seems like it would make sense that instead of having multiple examples of the Griptilian (as an example), in several configurations, why doesn't Benchmade cut out a few and leave it up to customers to configure, in the custom shop, their own knives in any steel, colour, or scale material? This way, buyers get exactly what they want and companies can cut back on slow moving inventory.

Then again, I have no idea what I'm talking about and certainly not in any position to run a multi-million dollar company.

Man just came to start this thread after seeing some of the KSF sales for their discontinued models... super bummed to see the anthem on there... it's been one of my favs :-( anyone know how their warranty works with discontinued models?

Crooked River with Dymondwood scales is the 105080-2, with G10 it's the 105080-1 so it looks like maybe only the Dymondwood scales are going away?

Damn you're right, I was wrong about the numbering. It is the wood handled CR. Did they already discontinue the G10 handle one? I don't even see it on the Benchmade website, while the wood one is still there. I don't think they even introduced a G10 handle in the regular production mini CR.

So will the Crooked River only be available on the custom builder now, or is this like when they listed all of the griptillian models as "discontinued" when they switched from 154CM to S30V? Could we already be getting an upgraded Crooked River?

I suspect they'll be shifting to G10 only on the Crooked River and the Mini CR. No way those are going away totally, they are one of the most popular models in the Hunt line, and do well on the Custom Shop as well.

Sad to see the 943 go, might have to snap one up. The Anthem going away is big news too. Those will become scarce fast.

BladeHQ had the Mini Griptillisn 555-1 list as discintinued this weekend. I wa confused about that one I thought it was a popular model.

The "BB" in the SKU is a "Blue Box" version for REI, no Hunt packaging.

That's what I thought, Jimmy. I didn't know it was for REI but figured it was some version without the "Hunt" box.

There were a lot of models discontinued and I know that you can't reveal what's upcoming. I'm curious to see what Benchmade has planned with John in charge. Hopefully some great models. New classics if you will.

Lots of cool stuff coming! Also, everyone keep in mind that a lot of these SKUs on the list are just certain variants of the SKU family. The entire family isn't necessarily being discontinued.
