What with all the discontinued models, I wonder if maybe that's the direction for a knife company, like Benchmade, to follow. If anything this pandemic has demonstrated, it's that people are willing to buy online. Why have a large inventory and multiple examples of models, some of which probably are slow sellers?
It seems like it would make sense that instead of having multiple examples of the Griptilian (as an example), in several configurations, why doesn't Benchmade cut out a few and leave it up to customers to configure, in the custom shop, their own knives in any steel, colour, or scale material? This way, buyers get exactly what they want and companies can cut back on slow moving inventory.
Then again, I have no idea what I'm talking about and certainly not in any position to run a multi-million dollar company.
