2023 Case Vault Pattern?

I don't have any Congress knives, but some of those look great! I might pick up a 2- and 4-blade version at some point. The burl wood looked great in the linked video.

22 handle selections, little something for everyone. Two blade looks fantastic, just wish this was a slightly larger pattern.

Edited to add - only two offered in carbon steel. A red and a gray jigged bone, both are the two bladed congress.
Like the Swell-center Jack Carbons.

Just in time. Mine's almost used up!

r8shell and Misplaced Hillbilly, you both cracked me up. The photo and comment made me laugh, and the creative, yet accurate description made me laugh again. But r8shell, what's the story on that knife? Did you find it like that, or did you find a really worn knife and decide to give it straight edged blades? Inquiring minds want to know.

Totally agree. 😁 😁

I found it like that, in a resale shop, at the bottom of the "Used Case Knives $20 each" bin. I showed it to the guy behind the counter and said, "Come on..." and he discounted it to $5. 😁

I can only assume: someone carried and sharpened it until the tips sat above the frame. He then ground down the kicks until he needed to grind nail reliefs in order to access the nail nicks.

The blades work as well as an X-acto to sharpen pencils and score paper, and look much more cool and funky. I don't know if I'd get as much pleasure carrying one of these new Vault Releases. (unless they offer one in carbon steel with glitter gold covers - I'd have to buy that unicorn)

So I’m kinda new to the case stuff, I love a Congress knife so naturally I’m digging these ‘68 small congresses.

Are the “pilot test run” models better as far as fit and finish then a standard production version?

I figured they would have extra care spent on them before they go out the door.

r8shell, thanks for the info and the extra photo. I agree that your old Case is cooler and funkier than an X-acto knife. Safer, too, since it provides a built in case (pun intended) for the blades that X-actos lack. Damn, I wish I knew where to find a box of $20 Case knives.
